‘Little Nightmares’ Now Have Little Collectible Figures

Gecco has captured one of Little Nightmares‘ most iconic boss stages. The company’s artists nailed the unnerving look of the Twin Chefs, from their bulbous arms to the mountain of flesh that makes up their heads. In addition, there’s a nice touch with Six hiding under the table, waiting for the right time to move.

Trying to get a key to escape, Six must evade grotesque twin chefs in the Maw’s kitchen. The giant flabby culinary masters are even more terrifying when you notice that their fleshy faces are, in fact, masks. If they catch you, they will cook you.

Although small, roughly the size of your palm. It’s 75mm or 2.95″ tall. Unfortunately, the Little Nightmares Twin Chefs statue carries a hefty price tag: $52.99. The Twin Chefs are made from PVC/ABS and will be available between June and July of this year. This collectible can be pre-ordered now from Gecco Direct.

The Twins statue is the 4th in the mini-figure collection. Previous releases included Six, The Janitor, and Nome. The set will consist of six total figures, with The Guests and The Lady coming out later in the Summer. Check them out below:

Little Nightmares was first released on PC and consoles in 2017. LittleBigPlanet 3’s Tarsier Studios developed it, and Bandai was the publisher. The game was part survival horror, part puzzler. Each enemy was a sickening depiction of gluttony.

2021 saw the return of Six in Little Nightmares II. It delivered more of the same mix of gameplay types but wasn’t quite as memorable as the first game. However, if you want to try them out, both titles are available on Stream. The original is $19.99, and the sequel is $29.99.

Review: That ’90s Show Season 1 – New Decade with Old Friends

If you watched That ‘70s Show when it was airing on FOX, or caught it on reruns and streaming, you’ll know how much its humor and goofiness resonated with viewers. For some, it was a fun throwback to a decade of their youth, while for a new generation, it was a window into some relatable shenanigans and fun times. The characters we came to know over eight seasons eventually grew up and moved on. And while there was a terrible follow-up to the series that focused on the 80s, it wasn’t a true sequel to That ‘70s Show. It would be a long time before we see what happened afterward to Eric and his friends with That 90s Show on Netflix.

The show takes place in the mid-90s, around 15 years after the ending of That ‘70s Show in the summertime. Eric and Donna have a young daughter named Leia who spends her summer vacation in Point Place with her grandparents, rather than going to Space Camp with her dad Eric. Leia meets a bunch of kids living in town and the new crew ends up hanging out in the familiar basement from the original show. Red and Kitty once again watch over the teens as they get into tons of goofy scenarios and humorous moments during Leia’s summer in Point Place. For those who watched the original show, the tone and humor are right in line with what they know. Even the transitions from before are done in a similar fashion, but with a 90s color scheme and twist.

Each of the kids has different personality traits that are silly and mirror a lot of what was done with Eric and his friends. Leia is every bit her father’s daughter, with an awkward personality and quirkiness that we saw with Eric However, she definitely has the clever mind and problem-solving skills of Donna, which makes her charming and fun to watch. Leia falls for one of the boys in the group named Jay, who just happens to be the child of someone the audience knows, making for a surprise and hilarious appearance.

Leia’s friend Gwen is a rebellious teen girl with a blunt personality, but a warm heart for her new bestie. She’s played by Ashley Aufderheide, and much of her antics play off a lot of the teen rebellious attitude from the 90s, sometimes even to a fault. Not all of the jokes and punchlines land, but there are a few that will get you to have a genuine laugh.

Reyn Doi is Ozzie and always has a snide remark about everything, but with funny and precise timing. A few of the comebacks Ozzie makes to different characters will catch you off guard. At the same time, some of the episodes he’s in can get a little heavy, especially when Ozzie decides to come out as gay to Kitty Foreman. Luckily there is humor to balance it out that is both tasteful and consistent with the rest of the show. There isn’t a point where things get too comical or preachy with it, which helps maintain the overall fun tone of the show without being afraid to tackle heavy subjects. That ‘70s Show was able to do so a number of times throughout its run, and it’s good to see this follow-up do the same.

Nikki and Nate are the other two characters within the group that don’t offer as much until the tail end of the show. Nikki is Nate’s girlfriend who is intelligent and goal-driven, while Nate is lighthearted and always looking to have fun. They’re both part of the shenanigans that Leia finds herself in throughout the show, but don’t really have big moments until the end of the season. Nikki and Nate together almost feel like a different version of Jackie and Kelso from That ’70s Show, but not as funny. The very last episode has a big tease about Nate and how he will affect the group in the next season, but it happens a bit too randomly and feels almost forced. The same can be said for Nikki, both with what happens with Nate and how it will affect their relationship going forward.

But what about the decade in which the show takes place, as well as the cameos by characters from That ’70s Show? There are a few times when you can feel the 90s nostalgia very strongly, including when Kitty and Red finally get a computer at the house. It’s a nice touch to see how these characters react to things changing, but it’s never really expanded upon too much. Another moment finds Leia going to a video store with Kitty, which seems to be a Blockbuster video but there are no signs that show it. Leia also ends up going to a rave with the crew, filled with glow sticks and wild outfits for everyone. If you were hoping for a lot of 90s easter eggs and nods, then you’ll be disappointed. Chances are we’ll see more overt 90s references in the next season.

As far as the cast we knew from the previous show, we get to see them sparingly. They have continuations of their stories without overtaking too much of the plot focused on the kids throughout the season. Debra Jo Rupp and Kurtwood Smith reprise their roles as Kitty and Red Foreman, who are the two we see the most of from the old cast. But right at the beginning, we get to see Topher Grace and Laura Prepon as Eric and Donna drop off their daughter. Within that first episode, we not only get a lot of details about what they’ve been doing, as well as how their relationship hasn’t changed since we last saw them. But if you thought that was it, then you’ll be happy to know that both Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis appear as Michael Kelso and Jackie Burkhart. We won’t spoil how they appear, but it’s a great moment for fans of the original show.

To compliment that, we also get to see Fez, Leo, and Bob at different points of the show. Each of them have a part to play in various storylines, with some being funnier than others. However, one major cast member from That ‘70s Show who is missing is Hyde, who was played by Danny Masterson. This could be due to the real-life controversy that happened with Danny a few years prior to the release of That ‘90s Show. Luckily, we aren’t given any explanation for why we don’t see Hyde at all, not even a passing mention. This leaves the door open in case the creators of the show ever decide to bring him in. Hopefully, it doesn’t end up with a haphazard ending for a character that many viewers loved from That ‘70s Show.

At its heart, That ‘90s Show is a good follow-up for fans of the original show. It gives some answers to what happened in the years after the clock struck midnight at the end of That ‘70s Show, while also opening up the potential for more fun stories with these characters. It’s only the first season with the new cast of teens and it will take some time for them to grow into their roles. Whether this show ends up being funnier or better than its predecessor is up for debate, at least for now.

Did you get to watch That ‘90s Show on Netflix? Were you a fan of the original show before this came out? Post your thoughts in the comments section and let us know!

Doc Nocturnal Returns As A Static-6 Statue From Mezco

0

Mezco has resurrected the Rumble Society’s Doc Nocturnal and turned him into a statue!

Doc Nocturnal has appeared a few times in Mezco’s One:12 Collective series of 6″ premium action figures. He, like Atticus Doom, is one of the Rumble Society’s most famous members. This, however, is his first time in the somewhat new Static-6 line. The last character we covered from the collection was Elvira.

The good Doc may not have the sex appeal of the Mistress of the Night, but he makes up for it with a badass costume and firearms! This Static-6 figure features multiple interchangeable arms and heads. In addition, he’ll only set you back $225.

Doc Noctural is expected to ship between September and November of this year.

Straight from the serial screens, radio shows, and pulp pages of yesteryear comes Doc Nocturnal! Hidden away in the Nocturnal Tower, the Phantom Knight quietly observes the infernal region for anomalies while perfecting the ancient practice of necro-alchemy.

The 15″ tall statue of Doc Nocturnal comes with the following:

  • Two (2) head portraits
  • Five (5) interchangeable arms in different poses
  • One (1) cape with integrated posing wire (removable)
  • One (1) tommy gun (affixed to right arm)
  • One (1) Ferryman (affixed to right arm)
  • One (1) Ferryman (fits in holster)
  • One (1) severed infernal beast head (affixed to left arm)

Unfortunately, he’s not a standard action figure. Maybe not at that size, but a Marvel Legends-styled Doc Nocturnal would look pretty cool, even if he were still at a premium price point. Hopefully, in the near future, Mezco will re-release some of the older Rumble Society One:12 Collective figures. Or, at least, bring them back out in new variations, as we saw with Atticus Doom recently.

Wahoo! Celebrate The Year Of Mario With This Mario Kart Statue!

0

It’s the year of Mario! We’re getting a new movie, and Super Mario World just opened at Universal Studios Hollywood! Let’s-a-go and pre-order a Mario Kart statue from First4Figures.

Thankfully, First4Figures didn’t make multiple versions of the Mario Kart statue. There’s only one available for pre-order as of writing this, and it’s $164.99. The base does light up, powered by a rechargeable battery. Yes, the USB-C cable is included.

The statue measures 8.7″ tall, and the base is 11.8″ in diameter. Early bird pricing will end on February 21st; the figure goes up to $174.99 afterward.

Expect Mario to cross the finish line during the third quarter of this year.

Everything you know and love about Mario is brought to life in this incredible statue. Realistic touches add depth and nuance to the smallest details – from fabric and stitching on his bright red cap to the smoke coming off his kart’s spinning wheels. The kart itself is modeled after the classic Pipe Frame design, with lifelike parts and details.

Here’s what you’re getting for $164.99:

  • Round black base with finishing line and racetrack details
  • LED function for the base (Static Mode only)
  • Limited edition numbering on the bottom of the base and packaging
  • Authentication Card
  • Rechargeable battery with USB-C Cable
  • Special Premium deluxe box packaging

The story of how Mario Kart came to be is an interesting one. The now-famous series didn’t start as a Mario title at all. Instead, the game started as a much-needed multi-player racer after the successful launch of F-Zero. After that, however, the kart racer was nearly scrapped. Check out the video below for more:

UPDATE: Hasbro’s Ghostbusters Proton Pack Problems Solved By Fans

0

UPDATE:

We asked Hasbro Pulse on January 16th about the missing “chrome brushed” decals. Through e-mail, the company bounced us around a couple of different people with no resolution. However, we got a response through Twitter as of today, February 14th. It wasn’t exactly what we wanted to hear:

So, the advertised stretch goal item was changed during production, and Hasbro is investigating it. This doesn’t tell me if the issue is going to be fixed for those of us who plopped down $399 for a Proton Pack. While decals sound like a minor issue, telling backers they’re going to get a very specific type of unlock only to deliver something we could print at home for less than a couple of dollars shows me that Hasbro is not dedicated to holding up their end of a deal.

I followed up with Hasbro, asking if the company will send out the correct decals, but I have not heard back.

The original story continues below.

In our review of the Hasbro Ghostbusters Plasma Series Spengler’s Proton Pack, we mentioned that one of the stretch goals included “custom 1984 decals with a brushed chrome look.” Unfortunately, what backers ended up getting were standard decals on glossy paper with no metallic shine whatsoever. These were no better than something you could print at home.

Of course, Hasbro has an out with small print that says, “FINAL PRODUCT MAY VARY.” Considering this was part of the first stretch goal, it’s not a good look to send out cheap decals when we are told something different would be included.

The stickers already applied to the pack by Hasbro also lack the metallic look. Was this a cost-cutting move the company hoped no one would notice? It’s bad enough that all of the Afterlife decals were already stuck to the Proton Pack because if you want to replace them with the ’84 versions, it will be a chore.

Additionally, our pack suffered from either faulty wiring in the hose or a bad connector which would cause the Ghostbusters Proton Pack to shut off if the hose was bumped lightly or moved in general while wearing the replica unlicensed nuclear accelerator. This issue was also documented by a backer who received theirs from Zavvi. Other backers also mentioned the hose problem along with other power issues on Reddit.

We contacted Hasbro a couple of days after our review via e-mail and Twitter for comment. HasLab responded with an automatically generated ticket saying someone would get back to us. Unfortunately, as of publishing this article, we’ve not heard from Hasbro.

As far as the pack itself goes, I still stand by my praise. For $399, you do get a beautiful full-sized replica with lights and sounds. However, Hasbro did promise certain things, and the company either didn’t deliver or failed during the QC process.

There is a temporary fix, which involves adding a small amount of electrical tape to the connector. Check it out below:

Other backers have also noticed that the pack shuts off quickly, even with new batteries and the rumble motor turned off. We got roughly 30-45 seconds of runtime in Afterlife and ’84 modes. This isn’t ideal for wearing this replica to a convention. We tried multiple combinations of settings to get the lights to stay on longer, and nothing worked. Thankfully, modders have already started to solve this issue, but it may be beyond what most people are willing to do. These modifications include adding rechargeable batteries and rewiring the system:

In other news, whoever did the artwork for Egon’s journal allegedly lifted an image from an unofficial Ghostbusters source. Bob Moseley from Bob’s Prop Shop noticed that a “sketch” of the Ecto-1 found in the journal might have been sourced from a photo of one of his custom-made replica vehicles. Check out the video below:

Æon Flux Lives Again As A Premium Statue From PCS

Peter Chung’s slender, acrobatic, and deadly assassin from the city of Monica has returned to the collectibles market thanks to Premium Collectibles Studio. The animated icon is back, and she’s gunning for your wallet! This Æon Flux costs $1,250.

Although expensive, Aeon Flux more than makes up for it in design and size. Miss Flux’s diorama stands 39.5″ tall, and the base is about 17″ in diameter. It features the leather-clad anarchist slinking down for the kill shot. Unfortunately, the 1:3 scale sculpture is limited to only 400 pieces.

Could a Trevor Goodchild statue be on the way as a companion piece? Let’s hope so. In the meantime, the flexible Aeon Flux will nimbly make her way into collectors’ homes between August and October of this year. She can be pre-ordered through Sideshow Collectibles.

The Aeon Flux Statue is fully sculpted and highly detailed to transform the iconic style of the animated MTV series into a three-dimensional collectible figure. Her costume features a glossy purple paint application to recreate the tight top, harnesses, and thigh-high boots. Aeon Flux has a muscled physique, and her signature swooping hairstyle frames the fearless and determined expression on her portrait.

Æon Flux, the iconic animated shorts, and the eventual series were the main reasons I kept tuning into MTV. But should an eleven-year-old kid be watching Liquid Television and a barely clothed assassin? Nope. This was before the V-Chip. Good times.

It’s too bad that the only revival Aeon Flux got was a 2005 movie with a miscast Charlize Theron in the lead role. Peter Chung was not too pleased with the Hollywood-ized version of his work. The franchise was underutilized during the height of its popularity, with a PlayStation video game being in the works but never released. All I can remember was an advertisement in a physical gaming magazine.

There are still talks of the Æon Flux universe resurfacing. Still, given what we’ve seen with adaptations on streaming services recently, I fear how modern Hollywood would try to tame the citizens of Monica and Bregna further.

Meet The Playable Killer Klowns In This Character Teaser

0

Killer Klowns From Outer Space: The Game is the only title I’m genuinely looking forward to this year. I’m a sucker when it comes to horror movie-based games. So the fact that I can finally cause chaos with a cotton candy gun just makes me giddy. But which Klowns can we choose from?

Thanks to a newly released video from Good Shepherd Entertainment, we know how many alien invaders are playable and what role they serve in the player-vs-player title. Most of the core Killer Klowns from the cult classic movie are present, and each evil extraterrestrial has a specific class. Here’s the breakdown:

Rudy – Trapster (with cotton candy gun)

Spikey – Tracer (with a popcorn gun)

Jumbo – Scout (with a mallet)

Shorty – Fighter (of course!)

Fatso – Tank (with an unidentifiable weapon stuck to his right hand)

Slim, for whatever reason, is not one of the five types of playable Klowns. Bibbo, Jojo, and the female Klowns are also not missing from the roster. They may be unique characters, like the Evil Ash or Henrietta in Evil Dead: The Game.

An exact release date has not yet been determined, but Teravision Games and Good Shepherd Entertainment are aiming for this year. Hopefully, in the near future, we’ll have an interview with the game’s score composer John Massari.

Killer Klowns From Outer Space: The Game can now be added to your Steam wishlist. The cross-platform multiplayer game pits humans VS clowns in a manner similar to what we saw with the Friday the 13th and Evil Dead games.

Plan your own alien invasion and harvest humans as the iconic Killer Klowns, or gather a team of survivors to fight the extraterrestrial threat, in a game based on the ’80s cult classic movie. Welcome to a new, craazzy take on the asymmetrical multiplayer horror experience!

The Dark Knight’s Bane Gets A Hot Toys Release

Bane, the villain born in darkness, is coming to Hot Toys line of premium 1/6 scale collectible figures. The latest Dark Knight figure features Tom Hardy’s likeness (what you can see of it) and an impressive amount of detail on his tactical gear. So now you can recreate that iconic scene where Bane gave Batman a bit of a backache.

Pre-orders for Bane have not started yet, but the figure is expected to arrive during the first half of 2024.

Bane will come with the following:

– New specialized muscular body with over 20 points of articulations displays detailed muscle and scar textures
– Inner metal skeleton with enhanced articulation range
– Seamless design from neck to arms
– Advance body structure
– Eight (8) pieces of interchangeable hands including:
– One (1) pair of fists
– One (1) pair of relaxed hands
– One (1) pair of accessory holding hands
– One (1) pair of gesture hands
– Each piece of head sculpt is specially hand-painted

Costume:
– One (1) brown coat
– One (1) brown jacket
– One (1) green combat vest
– One (1) pair of dark grey military pants with knee pads
– One (1) brown glove for right hand
– One (1) pair of dark green combat boots

Accessories:
– One (1) Batman’s shattered cowl
– A specially designed city sewer diorama figure stand with character backdrop

Christopher NNolan’sversion of Bane departs drastically from the comic book vvillain’sbackstory. Rather than being born in a South American prison and strengthened by a super steroid known as Venom, The Dark Knight Rises simplified things. In a way, that acted as a negative. In the Knightfall saga, Bane systematically broke the Bat first by creating a massive crime wave.

Batman was in a non-stop battle against almost every one of his famous foes, thanks to Bane blowing a hole in Arkham Asylum. Eventually, Bane learned of BBatman’ssecret identity, broke into the Batcave, and quickly snapped an exhausted BBatman’sspine.

We ddon’tget much of a backstory for NNolan’sBane; aside from that, he, too, escaped from prison (The Pit) but was disfigured by fellow prisoners and required a breathing apparatus around his head. Rather than acting on his behalf to break the Batman, he was part of the League of Shadows and sort of a do-boy for Talia al Ghul.

Make It ‘Big’ With New Wave Toys’ Zoltar Replica

Hey! You wanna be big? I mean BIG. Then get yourself a Zoltar machine. Oh, and a gym membership. Also, lots of protein and a nutritionist. What? You thought a robotic fortune teller would make you an Adonis, like me, magically? Pish.

However, if you do want to make a wish but don’t have a full-size Zoltar in a cabinet, you’re in luck because New Wave Toys has announced their latest 1/6 scale replica is none other than the legendary fortune teller!

Sadly, this Zoltar is based on the type typically seen at arcades and carnivals rather than the version appearing in BIG. It would not be easy to replicate the coin ramp mechanic on a 1/6 scale; I get it. Regardless of it not being that Zoltar, the replica does have all the hallmarks of the familiar machine. Zoltar’s head, mouth, eyes, and hands move. The crystal ball lights up. He speaks. And New Wave has added a feature not found in their previous scaled-down cabinets.

Unlike New Wave’s previous 1/6 scale arcade machine replicas, Zoltar will work if you insert the included mini-coins. Not only that, but the mystical teller will also dole out fortune cards, just like the full-size version! Thankfully, New Wave Toys understands that Zoltar doesn’t have the same replayability of an arcade cabinet like Dragon’s Lair or 1942. So, they’ve priced this guy at $99.99.

The Zoltars are expected to arrive sometime during the fourth quarter of 2023.

Although it is still a work in progress, New Wave Toys is aiming at the Zoltar replica having the following features:

  • Accurate Replica of Deluxe Zoltar Speaks in 1/6 Scale (12.2in tall)
  • Fully Animated Head, Eyes, Talking & Arm
  • Mini-Coin Operated & Free Play Button Activated
  • Speaks All 16x Recorded Messages
  • Fortune Card Dispenser  with All  55x Fortunes Included
  • Attract Mode
  • Hand Painted & Quality Built with Premium Materials
  • Reproduction LED Cabinet Lighting Featuring Multi Color Changing Ball
  • Mini Faux Power Cord
  • Collector Quality Packaging  & Unboxing
  • Officially licensed by Characters Unlimited
  • 100-Day New Wave Factory Warranty
  • (1) USB-C power cable
  • (55) Mini Zoltar Fortune Cards
  • (8) Mini Metal Arcade Tokens

It’s Spike VS Vicious In These New ‘Cowboy Bebop’ Statues

0

It feels like years since we covered Cowboy Bebop. The real deal, not the Netflix travesty. In fact, the last time a new Cowboy Bebop collectible showed up on our radar was when the Swordfish II model kit was announced in 2021. So let’s fix that by talking about five new statues based on the beloved anime!

It’s Spike VS Vicious in this 12″ tall, 25″ wide diorama from First4Figures!

In typical First4Figures fashion, Spike and Vicious can be purchased via multiple different editions. If you want the complete duel diorama with a few extras, the Last Stand Definitive Edition will cost you $549.99. However, if you’re going to get only one of the characters or don’t care about all the frills, the Standard Editions are a little less expensive.

Or, if you prefer, Spike and Vicious can be picked up separately in either Standard or Exclusive Editions. The main difference being the swappable interchangeable heads are only available on the Exclusive versions. Check out the price breakdown below on the five available statues:

Pre-orders are happening now, and the expected ship date is sometime during the first quarter of 2024.

If you do decide to pick up the Definitive Edition, here’s what comes in the box:

  • High-Quality Resin Diorama of Spike and Vicious
  • Dynamic Poses as they appeared in the final episode, The Real Folk Blues (Part 2)
  • Elevated Base Design of the Red Dragon Crime Syndicate headquarters
  • Red Dragon Crime Syndicate companion relief sculpture
  • Interchangeable Heads with different facial expressions and additional blood effects
  • Blood Splatter out of the wounds in both Spike and Vicious
  • Limited Edition Numbering
  • Authentication Card

Hey, remember when Netflix totally forgot what people loved about the anime and gave us a “for modern audiences” take on Cowboy Bebop? I bet you forgot all about that cluster, didn’t you? Well, now you can watch this famous scene back-to-back with the terrible Netflix take!
