Æon Flux Lives Again As A Premium Statue From PCS

Peter Chung’s slender, acrobatic, and deadly assassin from the city of Monica has returned to the collectibles market thanks to Premium Collectibles Studio. The animated icon is back, and she’s gunning for your wallet! This Æon Flux costs $1,250.

Although expensive, Aeon Flux more than makes up for it in design and size. Miss Flux’s diorama stands 39.5″ tall, and the base is about 17″ in diameter. It features the leather-clad anarchist slinking down for the kill shot. Unfortunately, the 1:3 scale sculpture is limited to only 400 pieces.

Could a Trevor Goodchild statue be on the way as a companion piece? Let’s hope so. In the meantime, the flexible Aeon Flux will nimbly make her way into collectors’ homes between August and October of this year. She can be pre-ordered through Sideshow Collectibles.

The Aeon Flux Statue is fully sculpted and highly detailed to transform the iconic style of the animated MTV series into a three-dimensional collectible figure. Her costume features a glossy purple paint application to recreate the tight top, harnesses, and thigh-high boots. Aeon Flux has a muscled physique, and her signature swooping hairstyle frames the fearless and determined expression on her portrait.

Æon Flux, the iconic animated shorts, and the eventual series were the main reasons I kept tuning into MTV. But should an eleven-year-old kid be watching Liquid Television and a barely clothed assassin? Nope. This was before the V-Chip. Good times.

It’s too bad that the only revival Aeon Flux got was a 2005 movie with a miscast Charlize Theron in the lead role. Peter Chung was not too pleased with the Hollywood-ized version of his work. The franchise was underutilized during the height of its popularity, with a PlayStation video game being in the works but never released. All I can remember was an advertisement in a physical gaming magazine.

There are still talks of the Æon Flux universe resurfacing. Still, given what we’ve seen with adaptations on streaming services recently, I fear how modern Hollywood would try to tame the citizens of Monica and Bregna further.
