Freedom! Celebrate It With These ‘Peacemaker’ Funko Pops!

So, maybe you killed an American hero because the shadowy organization you work for told you to. It’s OK. You redeemed yourself by saving the world. Now maybe you’ll get your face on lunchboxes and Funko Pops. You can live with that, right? It was only Rick Flag who you put in a grave…
Peacemaker was a surprise for many of us. I was unsure if John Cena could carry a superhero TV series since the statue of the DCEU is in constant flux. However, Cena’s comedic timing and James Gunn’s writing did the trick for the most part. And, like with many other entries in pop culture, the characters of the HBO Max series now have their own Funko Pop figures.
We spotted these four new Pops over at the Big Bad Toy Store. Vigilante, Peacemaker (in his undies), Eagly, Judomaster, and Peacemaker being hugged by Eagly are on their way. Each Pop is priced at $12.99 and should be in stores during the second quarter of this year.

Aside from some Twitter-level writing when it came to social issues, Peacemaker was a fun ride, matching the outlandish nature of James Gunn’s The Suicide Squad sequel. No one is a hero, and there’s a lot of failure going on. However, when it comes to saving the world, even the most pathetic hero can pull it together in the end.

The show has been cleared for a second season, and let’s hope we get less social commentary and more character-driven stories. Peacemaker’s redemption is interesting, but I honestly could not care about Adebayo or Economos. Spoilers ahead: Too bad we lost Murn as digging into his backstory before being a host could have added more weight to his death.
What are your thoughts on Peacemaker as both a character and the series? Let us know your opinions in the comments section below.

Iron Man’s Hall Of Armor Suits Are PX Funko Pop! Exclusives

Long before Robert Downey Jr. helped solidify the MCU as a worthwhile effort, Marvel Comics had been the only solid home for Iron Man and Tony Stark. In 1959 Tony first emerged in a bulky golden suit of armor and became the Invincible Iron Man. Over the years, the technology of the armor has evolved, leaving decades of various iconic designs.
Now, Previews PX is the only place to find the first two figures in the Hall of Armor line of Funko Pops. This initial wave includes the golden version of the Mark 1 armor and the long-time standby Mark III suit.
Both Pops can be pre-ordered now through April 4th. These two exclusives are expected in comic shops on April 27th, 2022. Each figure is priced at $29.99.

Each Pop! Deluxe Marvel Hall of Armor Iron Man figure stands about 3 3/4″ tall and comes packaged in a collector-friendly window box. Look out for more Iron Man Hall of Armor Releases in 2023!

As seen in Tales of Suspense #40, you can add Iron Man‘s classic Golden Armor to your own Iron Man Hall of Armor with Funko! These comic book-inspired designs, built out to include stackable alcoves for each armor, allow collectors to build their own hall of armor.

Built to replace the Mark III after it was heavily damaged in his fight with The Freak, the Iron Man Armor: Mark IV is one of Tony’s most iconic suits to date.

The Hall of Armor has shown up a few times via other companies. Beast Kingdom and Hot Toys have their take on Tony Stark’s armory, but those two specifically focus on the MCU version of the Iron Man suits. The classic Marvel Comics Iron Man deserves more attention.
Which suits are you looking forward to being included in possible future Funko Hall of Armor releases? My personal favorite has always been the Silver Centurion. Let us know in the comments section below.

Atomic Blast From The Past: Super7 Brings Back Marusan’s Godzilla!

Super7 is bringing back the simplistic Marusan Godzilla design in the ReAction toy line. The Marusan monsters were always on offer in bright colors and didn’t exactly look like the King of the Monsters’ on-screen appearance. However, if you were a kid of the ’70s and ’80s, we took what we could get when it came to the atomic beast.
This Godzilla is 3.75″ tall, matching the other ReAction figures. Yes, he features the “J-Tail,” which has become a sought-after collector’s item. This version of the iconic monster is painted metallic silver and has the red-painted eyes typically seen in Marusan toys.
Marusan-zilla will set you back $18.

Marusan’s articulated vinyl toys must have been a dream come true for kids in the 1960s. Finally, they had a Godzilla toy that could stand up to rough-and-tumble Kaiju play! This 3.75” scale articulated Toho ReAction figure of Marusan Godzilla features an upturned “J-Tail” from the very early versions of the original toy, along with a dark blue sculpted body with metallic silver paint detail, red eyes, and the Marusan logo stamped on its foot, just like the original toy! It would be a monstrous mistake not to add the Toho ReAction “J-Tail” Marusan Godzilla figure to your collection!

The original version was released in ’66 and underwent a little tweaking, leading to the original J-Tail release being rare.

For years you’d be able to find these figures at Toys R Us and other major toy stores. I’m pretty sure these companies would come across random old stock from Marusan. Then, they’d put out the Marusan monsters to fill the spot whenever there was empty shelf space. That’s why we’d keep finding them up until the early 1990s.
Since then, Marusan toys would have to be ordered online or tracked down at toy conventions. Had I known these toys would become this rare, I’d have used my entire allowance to scoop them up every time I saw them as a kid.

Iron Studios Brings Two Drastically Different Superman Statues

Whether you prefer the more recent Henry Cavill as the Man of Steel, or the classic boy scout Superman, Iron Studios has just what you need. The maker of fine collectibles is now taking pre-orders for a large-scale movie Black Suit Superman and a smaller Art Scale comic book Superman.
Black Suit Superman is huge. I am not joking. The statue is 27″ tall. That’s a lot of Cavill. My wife already made me order two of them. I’m not sure why we need two …
I personally prefer the Art Scale Superman. Red, blue, and yellow are Supe’s iconic colors, and no amount of Henry Handsomness can make up for the pure awesomeness that is classic Kal-El.
Art Scale is going for $199.99 and should ship in the fourth quarter of 2022. The big boy statue is $999.99 and will arrive around the same time.

Known as the “Regeneration Suit”, the black uniform was the original idea for the Justice League movie, but with the withdrawal of the director Zack Snyder, that left the production after one of his daughters passed away, Joss Whedon, the filmmaker that took his place, chose to use the classic blue suit instead. After a campaign promoted by fans and endorsed by Snyder, a version of the movie called “Snyder’s Cut” was released, with the director’s original script and shootings, where the black suit is used by the hero. With this costume, he can absorb the solar energy faster and speed up his recovery. Floating on a pedestal that refers to the barren alien vegetation created by Steppenwolf to terraform the planet, with an imposing countenance and his right fist clenched ready for combat, Iron Studios bring the majestic statue “Superman Black Suit – Zack Snyder\’s Justice League – Legacy Replica 1/4”, the first statue by Iron Studios for a hero of the DC universe on this scale, presented in the virtual event Inside Iron Studios: Second Edition.

Chosen by the audience in a survey, as the first DC character on this line, Superman Unleashed Deluxe brings the Man of Steel in a modern format, but in perfect balance with his classic visual aspect. Created in 1938 by Joe Shuster and Jerry Siegel, Superman is considered by many the first superhero. Kal-El, his original name, is one of the last survivors of the extinct planet Krypton, sent away when he was still a baby by his biological father, a renowned scientist. On Earth, he was found by a couple of farmers that raised him in an exemplary way, and as an adult, he took as a disguise the identity of the journalist Clark Kent, an activity that allows him to stay well-informed of all events so that he can use his powers to protect the humanity by himself, and by his Justice League allies’ side.

Your Hot Toys Batman Needs This Hot Toys Batcycle

In our Hot Toys ‘The Batman’ article, we mentioned that both the Batcycle and the Batmobile were teased in the promotional photos. Well, Sideshow Collectibles has just revealed the pre-order for at least one of them. The Batcycle will arrive sometime between April and September 2023. It will be priced at $315, which is $15 more than the 1/6th scale figure itself.
The Batcycle measures almost 7.5″ tall, 16.5″ wide, and 7.5″ deep. The motorcycle’s design isn’t flashy or unique like something like the Batpod from the Nolan Batflicks. Instead, like most of The Batman’s gear in the movie, the cycle is more grounded and practical. Aside from the bat-shaped fairing, this looks like a lot of the custom bikes I see at my buddy’s shop.
The Batcycle has light-up features that can operate either batteries or a USB connection. Unfortunately, the USB cable is not included.

More agile than a turtle, stronger than a mouse! El Chapulín Colorado Is Here!

The man who inspired the Simpson’s Bublmbee Man (Pedro Chespirito) is finally being honored with his own action figure. The Red Grasshopper or El Chapulín Colorado, as he is better known in Mexico, was a staple of the Televisa broadcasting company in that country during the 1970s.
The Red Grasshopper figure features a perfect likeness of Roberto “Chespirito” Gómez Bolaños. He comes complete with his little wings, antennae, and signature yellow sneakers. The humorous hero stands at just over 12″ tall and appears to have already sold out over at Iron Studios. If he comes back in stock, the asking price is $199.99.
El Chapulín Colorado would show up on Public Access Television in my town for years. It wasn’t always clear if these were legal airings of the Grasshopper’s comedic escapades, but we weren’t asking any questions. Public Access was also where many of us were introduced to the glory of wet t-shirt contests during midnight channel browsing in our teenage years.

New Wave To Produce New Space Ace and Dragon’s Lair Replicades

New Wave Toys is set to release four new cabinets based on Don Bluth’s arcade classics Dragon’s Lair and Space Ace. These include the Dragon’s Lair Overhaul Black Edition, Dragon’s Lair Overhaul Red Edition, Space Ace, and the Cinematronics Factory Space Ace cabinet.
The cabinets range in price from $149 to $169 and should be shipping out during the first quarter of 2023.
The first Replicade Dragon’s Lair machine came out last year after a few delays during the crowdfunding campaign. Since then, New Wave has made some changes, including a new processor for screen mirroring. The cabinets are made from solid wood, feature a rechargeable battery, and are pretty sweet all around. I’ve had my Dragon’s Lair machine for a while, and it makes a great display piece.

New Wave Toys

Dragon’s Lair Overhaul Black Edition is a redesign of our original 1/6th scale Dragon’s Lair x RepliCade with exclusive features and updates including: a more powerful processor to enable HDTV screen mirroring, individually numbered Cinematronics cabinet branding, Cinematronics raised letter metal coin door, black t-molding, mini prop replica of the commercial grade LDV1000 LaserDisc player used in Gen 2+ production runs of Dragon’s Lair, special Cinematronics packaging, plus a bonus Dragon’s Lair one sheet mini poster. Officially licensed by Digital Leisure and Dragon’s Lair LLC.

The Overhaul Red Edition has all the same features as the cabinet above, except this one features red t-moulding around the sides.

New Wave Toys also teased the upcoming Vectorbeam mini aux TV addon. I’ve only seen this feature on one machine at a Chuck E. Cheese in the ’80s. It was a way to let people waiting to play the game easily know how you were progressing without having to crowd around the cabinet. It’s not clear if the TV will be an LCD screen that tries to replicate a CRT or not. Hopefully, we’ll know more soon.

In case you missed out on the last two versions of Mondo‘s 12″ tall X-MEN: The Animated Series Wolverine figure, there is one more chance coming. Previews PX will have its own exclusive Wolverine figure out next month with just a couple of minor tweaks.
This release of animated Wolvie comes with most of the same accessories as the previously released SDCC exclusive except for the sad head. However, the box is also different—no bed to recreate memes with this time. Instead, the packaging shows off various panels from the cartoon’s storyboard.

You Shall Now Pass … On This $3k ‘Lord of the Rings’ Gandalf Statue!

Infinity Studio is giving us another pricey but impressive statue. The last one was the $1,800 Legolas statue. Now we’re getting Stormcrow himself, Gandalf. The wandering wizard is going to cost you $2,999.99. Well worth the cost, considering this isn’t just Gandalf the Gray standing idly around. No, this is Gandalf as declared that the Balrog of Moria “shall not pass.”
The statue can be pre-ordered now from the Big Bad Toy Store. A $450 non-refundable down payment is due upfront, but luckily the statue won’t ship until the first quarter of 2023. That should give you enough time to save up … if gas prices stop soaring.
The statue features an amazing likeness of Sir Ian McKellen. The hair is all rooted and the skin is made from silicone to retain a life-like appearance. The rest of the statue is made from fabric, polystone, and PVC. I was hoping the staff would be made of wood and Glamdring from steel, but oh well.
