Glory Be To Eivor’s ‘Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla’ Action Figure

The male version of Eivor Varinsson, the Wolf-Kissed, is getting his own 1/6th scale action figure from Pure Arts. Clad in various cloaks, tunics, belts, gloves, and fur, Eivor looks pretty damn good.
Well, for $259, I would expect nothing less when it comes to this sort of premium action figure. Whether a female version of Eivor will be released has not yet been confirmed, but the one we are getting should launch in the third quarter of 2023.

PureArts brings to life Eivor Varinsson, also known as the Wolf-Kissed, with this incredibly detailed Assassin’s Creed Valhalla Eivor 1/6 Scale Articulated Figure.  Born of fire and blood, Eivor’s leadership and battle prowess is unmatched, delivering glory and riches in every raid.
Featuring our latest generation of articulated body, Eivor includes an arsenal of accessories and weapons, hyperdetailed clothing and sculpt, and a custom Assassin’s Creed Valhalla display stand.

Eivor has the following accessories:

  • 27 points of articulation
  • Hyperdetailed sculpt and clothing
  • 4 pairs of interchangeable hands
  • Full arsenal of weapons including Death-Speaker bow, Hidden Blade, Varin’s Axe, Mammen Axe, Blacksmith’s Hammer, Raider Axe, Harpoon, Raven Claw Helmet, Raven Claw Shield and Calling Horn!
  • Custom Assassin’s Creed Valhalla styled display stand

I wish I could tell you something about Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla, but I cannot. And I put a lot of hours into that game, too. But, unfortunately, Ubisoft has yet to fix the save system. So, when I lost about eight hours’ worth of progress, I gave up and haven’t gotten back into the game for over a year.
That said, the idea of the Assassin’s Creed universe, including mythology from the wintery North, was intriguing. Raiding villages with lots of other Vikings sounded like a lot of fun, even if it kind of muddied the waters with the whole established storylines.
Is Eivor a memorable enough character from the franchise to warrant a $259 purchase? Let us know your thoughts and opinions in the comments section below.

The Premium Format Spider-Gwen Swings Into Our Hearts

0

Earth 65’s Gwen Stacy has become one of the most popular characters of the Spider-Verse since her reveal as Spider-Gwen in 2014. Her origin parallels Peter Parkers, but Gwen has stuck around as an icon in her way, becoming just as important to the original Spider-Man.
Ghost-Spider, Spider-Gwen, Spider-Woman, or whatever you want to call her, the heroic web-slinger, is getting a new Premium Format Figure from Sideshow Collectibles. Texting and swinging above NYC, Gwen is sporting her typical white, black, and magenta costume. Who’s she texting? Why, Miles Morales, of course!
The Spider-Gwen statue stands at 23.75″ tall, 12″ wide, and 16.65″ deep. She’ll set you back $600 and will swing into yer home sometime around March and May 2023.

Inspired by the heroine’s iconic appearance in Marvel Comics, the polystone Spider-Gwen Premium Format figure is fully sculpted and includes her white and pink masked portrait to hide her identity. Her costume features dynamic paint applications to highlight the colors of Gwen’s signature white, black, pink, and teal suit, even down to the dirt on the soles of her stylized shoes. Her backpack has a pair of drumsticks inside the pocket, completing her unique style. Whether she’s headed to band practice or the scene of a crime, Spider-Gwen will rock your world — and your collection.

Out of all the new female characters Marvel has tried to cement in pop culture over the past few years, Gwen seems to be the only one who has universal appeal. It’s almost like not downplaying existing beloved characters and trying to replace them outright is the way to go.
If the trailers for the next Spider-Verse movie are anything to go by, Gwen will probably be the main face for animated Spider-Man films going forward. I’m all for it.

Netflix confirmed that the Nordic historical action drama ‘Vikings: Valhalla’ will return for season two, which recently finished production, and a third season. Jeb Stuart will continue to serve as the showrunner and as an executive producer
“Netflix has confirmed a Second and Third season of ‘Vikings: Valhalla,'” the streaming service said in a press release. “Production of Season Two has wrapped, with the series expected to return to Netflix audiences around the world in 2023. The show’s returning cast includes Sam Corlett as Leif Eriksson, Frida Gustavsson as Freydis Eriksdotter, Leo Suter as Harald Sigurdsson, and several others.
Stuart expressed his enthusiasm for the renewal, saying in a statement, “Fans of Valhalla — THANK YOU to the millions of you who have watched (and rewatched!) Season One. The numbers have been mind-boggling and beyond my wildest expectations. I’m thrilled to be able to confirm that we wrapped and are already editing Season Two and that production will start soon on Season Three. While the storylines for Leif, Freydis, Harald, Olaf, Canute and the rest of our amazing cast are secret, I can say without hesitation that their journeys will be even more epic than what you’ve seen so far. SKÅL!!!”

Ghostbusters’ Ernie Hudson Joins Quantum Leap Revival as New “Al?”

When NBC announced that they were reviving Quantum Leap on Peacock, I have to be honest: I was very apprehensive. Even though it’s billed as a sequel series and not a hard reboot, these sorts of things seldom pan out.

However, the addition of Ernie Hudson as, presumably, the “new Al” gives me a bit more confidence in the direction that they’re going in. Hudson is playing Herbert “Magic” Williams, an older version of a character that Sam Beckett lept into in the 1980s series.

It would appear that this cements that this is definitely a sequel series, and that they’re going to have callbacks to the original show.

From Deadline

Written and executive produced by Steven Lilien and Bryan Wynbrandt and executive produced by Martin Gero as well as Quantum Leap creator/EP Don Bellisario and EP/co-narrator Deborah Pratt, the follow-up series is set in present time. It’s been 30 years since Dr. Sam Beckett (Scott Bakula) stepped into the Quantum Leap accelerator and vanished. Now a new team has been assembled to restart the project in the hopes of understanding the mysteries behind the machine and the man who created it.

Lee plays the lead, Dr. Ben Seong, a world-renowned physicist working on a time-travel project known as Quantum Leap who gets stuck in the late 1980s with amnesia after using the technology.

Hudson portrays Herbert “Magic” Williams, a Vietnam veteran and head of the time travel project at Quantum Leap. Using a bit of politicking and his military know-how to keep the Pentagon at bay, Magic buys the team some time to rescue Ben but expects answers once he’s back.

Speaking of all things Ghostbusters: could this series be to Quantum Leap what Ghostbusters: Afterlife was to that franchise? A respectful “passing of the torch” that introduces new characters without destroying the legacy of what came before?

We can only hope that maybe Scott Bakula eventually turns up as Dr. Sam Beckett, and that the ill-conceived ending of the original series is undone.
