Make Peace Happen At Any Cost With Peacemaker’s Tomahawk Replica

Peace at all costs! No matter what! I love how narrow-minded Peacekeeper is. The philosophy may be totally nuts, but he sure makes that quest fun to watch.

Want in on that action? Then pick up Factory Entertainment’s 1:1 replica of Peacekeeper’s Tomahawk! But don’t put it to use. Or, at least, don’t tell them that I said it was a good idea to seek out permanent peace with such a tool.

The replica of Peacemaker’s Tomahawk was made using assets from Warner Bros., one of which was a digital 3D file. If you’re into 3D printing like I am, having these tools is a godsend when crafting props.

Although the Tomahawk isn’t a super iconic weapon, even in the DC Universe, it’s an excellent-looking piece. The price, however, isn’t bringing me peace of mind.

The 16″ long metal prop is $299.99. Not even the replica of Blade’s glaive was that much. Oof.

If you do throw down that much cash, you’ll also get a plaque that will hold the Tomahawk and can be mounted on a wall. It also comes with a certificate of authenticity. I don’t think you’ll be seeing knock-offs of Peacekeeper’s weapon showing up in flea markets any time soon. So, a piece of paper saying it’s licensed isn’t exactly a selling point.

The last DCEU collectible we covered was Factory Entertainment’s non-wearable Black Manta helmet from Aquaman. Pick that up if you have a spare $999.99.

This replica Peacemaker Tomahawk is based on the screen-used prop as featured in the Warner Bros. / DC film, Suicide Squad (2021). Our team was provided with various exclusive assets, including detailed photos and 3D-digital sculpts directly from the studio in order to replicate exactly what’s seen on screen.

Peacemaker was a pretty enjoyable show. It did have a few annoying “modern audience” moments, but John Cena pulled off playing the narrowminded “hero” quite well.

What If McFarlane Toys Jokerized Frank Miller’s Dark Knight?

Have you ever wondered what would have happened if the Joker gassed Batman in The Dark Knight Returns? Instead of snapping the Clown Prince of Crime’s neck, Bats got a makeover in purple and green.

OK, the premise doesn’t make a lot of sense. But McFarlane Toys must have really wanted to reissue the TDKR Batman figure and figured the only way you’d buy it again was if it came with a gimmick.

And what did the company do to help ease that money out of your wallets? It gave Batman some lipstick, a palette swap, and some Jokerized playing cards. Yup. That’s it.

The idea, as officially stated in the product’s description, is:

The Joker has taken over and made some enhancements to Dark Knight Returns Batman.

The figure of Batman is the same as the previous Dark Knight Returns release, except there’s no Build-A-Figure part included. However, the cardholder that comes packed in is cool looking. I’d totally use it to hold my business cards.

I wish McFarlane Toys had put a little more effort into this one. I understand that molding new parts is very expensive, but would it have been too much to ask that for Joker’s face under the cowl?

The arbitrary four-playing cards are a bit weird. Why only four? At least give us a whole suit or something. Bah!

Regardless, Batman has the same articulation as the previous release. The figure may be pre-ordered at Target and will cost you $24.99.

Jokerized Batman comes with the following:

  • 4Fourplaying cards
  • Collector card holder
  • Base
  • Batarang with rope
  • Alternate hands

Review: Super7’s Godzilla Shogun (1200°C) ReAction Figure

We wrote about Super7’s Godzilla Shogun (1200°C) ReAction Figure nearly a year ago. It was a variant of an earlier released toy paying homage to Mattel’s 1970s line of giant Japanese monsters and robots.

Regarding ReAction Figures, I prefer to wait until Super7 releases a version with some gimmick, whether it be glow-in-the-dark or translucent parts. The original figure didn’t do much for me, but the 1200°C was right up my alley!

However, ordering toys from the internet has never really been my thing. I prefer to find these unique toys in the wild because I’m an old-school collector. Luckily, Best Buy has started to stock (in stores) the things I usually write about. From First4Figures to NECA, and now Super7’s ReAction and Ultimates lines! That was a surprise.

Thankfully, Best Buy wasn’t selling these at a markup. The Godzilla figure is the same price here as it was on Super7’s site: $25. The same with the Ultimates. They’re still $55.

But was this specialty collectible Godzilla ReAction figure worth the premium price? That’s going to depend on how nostalgic you are for Shogun. Godzilla collectibles are easy to find these days and range from inexpensive toys to pricey statues. Few of these, however, tackle oddities Godzilla fans saw during the 1970s and early 1980s.

Since Super7 specializes in these types of items, heck, another variant of the Shogun figure is based on an old model kit, which we reviewed here. But, again, is even that worth $25?

No. Sadly. While I love how the figure looks and the attention to detail, especially the trim ring around the right hand. The original Shogun Godzilla featured a right-hand firing missile (a fissile? Fistlle?). Even though the detail is there, the ReAction Figure’s paw cannot be removed and certainly isn’t spring-loaded.

Aside from the five points of articulation, the only functionality is the flicking flame tongue. This play feature causes the figure to have a giant red plastic tab sticking out the back of his head. See the pictures below.

The figure does pop on a shelf, though. The bright yellow paint and translucent orange plastic parts are pretty eye-catching.

Unfortunately, the Shogun-inspired box doesn’t allow the figure to be displayed unless you put the inner box side by side with the outer box. Even if it did allow for better display possibilities, it’s hard to justify paying $25 for this figure.

Netflix To Stream Thai Thriller ‘Delete’

0

Netflix has been aggressively expanding its streaming library after purging shared accounts and several entries in its catalog. This has included doubling down on releasing anime, Korean dramas, and now thrillers from Thailand. The streaming service has announced that it had acquired the rights to debut the Thai thriller ‘Delete’ in the United States.

“Ever secretly wished you could delete someone from your life? In the ominous world of DELETE, this power is entirely possible, thanks to a mysterious device that has the ability to erase a person from existence. Those who come into contact with this dangerous power soon realise that it draws out their worst impulses,” Netflix said in a statement. “The new Thai series DELETE debuts worldwide on Netflix on June 28, and it marks the series debut of director Parkpoom Wongpoom.”

Wongpoom, also a co-writer for the series, adds, “DELETE’s exciting and extraordinary plot revolves around the darker sides of human nature, especially when complicated relationships come into the picture. The story examines a thought-provoking question: if we could actually make anyone vanish, would we do it? I had the chance to explore a lot of new approaches and experiences throughout the making of DELETE, which will cross the lines between genres like action and drama, and even include some special-effect spectacles.”

You can watch the trailer for the show here:

The show features many Thai celebrities including Ice-Natara Nopparatayapon, Nat Kitcharit, Fah-Sarika Sartsilpsupa, Chutimon Chuengcharoensukying, Duangjai Hiransri, Jaonaay Jinjett Wattanasin, Porntip Kitdamrongchai, Dujdao Vadhanapakorn, and Yasaka Chaisorn.

“The show’s emotional journey is brought to life by a cast packed with award-winning talent. These include Ice-Natara Nopparatayapon as the heir from a wealthy family, Nat Kitcharit playing a famous writer, and Fah-Sarika Sartsilpsupa as a woman trapped in a controlling marriage,” Netflix continued.

The streaming service recently faced controversy over a new policy charging users for password sharing.

Sabretooth Claws His Way Into Mondo’s 1:6 X-Men TAS Toy Line!

The once mysterious Sabretooth has returned to his classic, iconic 1990s look thanks to Mondo’s X-MEN: The Animated Series 1:6 scale line of action figures. Back then, we didn’t know if he was Wolverine’s daddy, brother, cousin, or clone. Ah, I miss when the pasts of some of the greatest mutants were cloudy.

Sabretooth is huge. His hulking statue is captured perfectly here because he isn’t just 12″ tall. Victor Creed is 13″ in height. He towers over the Wolverine and Jubilee figures.

Sabretooth went up for pre-sale just now! Click here to check out Mondo’s previously released X-MEN: The Animated Series 1:6 scale action figures.

“Wolverine’s ex-Team X teammate, Sabretooth, was transformed into a towering archenemy capable of hunting Logan to the ends of the Earth.”

The Timed Edition version of Victor comes with the following:

  • Sabretooth Figure
  • Smiling Portrait
  • Angry Portrait
  • Maskless Portrait
  • Blaster
  • Muzzle
  • Detonator
  • Explosive
  • Talos Head
  • 4 pairs of hands – Fists, C-Grip, Trigger, Dramatic
  • Figure Stand

The only difference between this one and the standard figure is the inclusion of the unmasked portrait, muzzle, and blaster pistol. Oh, and the Timed Edition is $240, while the other is $225.

Maybe one day we’ll get a comic book-accurate Victor Creed on screen. However, given the trend of making all villains annoyingly sympathetic, he’d be ruined or tainted in some way to make him appeal to the mythical “modern audience.”

I think the closest we got was with the first X-MEN film in 2000. Sure, he didn’t talk and showed no connection to Wolverine, but he looked the part. Well, he looked closer to his late ’70s version, but it was better than nuffin’.

What do you think about the 1990s version of Sabretooth? Should the character have stayed dead at the end of Wolverine #55? Let us know what you think in the comments section below.

Amazon Studios Drops Trailer For Hero Comedy ‘I’m A Virgo’

0

Amazon Studios dropped the trailer for their upcoming superhero comedy ‘I’m A Virgo.’ It is an upcoming television series that will stream the first season onto Prime Video and is a co-production with Media Res Studio.

“Prime Video released the official trailer and key art to the highly anticipated mythical coming-of-age comedy I’m A Virgo, starring Emmy-winning actor Jharrel Jerome (When They See Us, Moonlight). The series is created, written, and executive produced by colorful-sock-wearing filmmaker Boots Riley (Sorry to Bother You), who directed all seven episodes. Jerome also serves as an executive producer. All seven episodes of the Amazon Original series will be available exclusively on Prime Video in more than 240 countries and territories around the world on June 23,” Amazon said on their website.

You can watch the trailer below:

The show also stars Brett Gray (On My Block, Star Trek: Prodigy), Kara Young (The Punisher), Allius Barnes (PEN15, Cruel Summer, SHRIEK), Olivia Washington (Breaking, The Tragedy of Macbeth, The Little Things), Mike Epps (The Upshaws, Dolemite Is My Name), and Carmen Ejogo (True Detective, Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them, It Comes at Night).

Amazon Studios describes the synopsis as follows,

“I’m A Virgo is a darkly comedic fantastical coming-of-age joyride about Cootie (Jerome), a 13-foot-tall young Black man in Oakland, California. Having grown up hidden away, passing time on a diet of comic books and TV shows, he escapes to experience the beauty and contradictions of the real world. He forms friendships, finds love, navigates awkward situations, and encounters his idol, a real-life superhero named The Hero, played by Walton Goggins (The Hateful Eight, The Righteous Gemstones). I’m A Virgo is a mythical odyssey that questions the purpose of the mythical odyssey.”

Boots Riley and Tze Chun are on board as the showrunners. Jerome also is on board as an executive producer.

Upcoming ‘Transformers One’ Animated Film Delayed

0

The upcoming animated origin film ‘Transformers One’ has been delayed from its release date of July 19, 2024, to September 13, 2024. The film will be directed by Josh Cooley (Toy Story 4, Riley’s First Date) and will not slow down the ‘Bumble Bee’ sequel ‘Transformers: Rise of the Beast.’

“While the sole competitor on its new date is an untitled film from Uni/Blumhouse, the project hits theaters shortly after the September 6th debut of Warner Bros’ ‘Beetlejuice 2,’ Disney’s ‘Blade’ and another unknown Disney pic. It had previously been set to contend with Universal’s Twisters,” Deadline reports.

‘Transformers One’ is being made by Paramount Animation, Hasbro, and eOne. It will tell the story of how Optimus Prime, voiced by ‘Thor’ actor Chris Hemsworth, and Megatron, voiced by ‘Eternals’ actor Brian Tyree Henry, go from being allies to enemies in the war for Cybertron. ‘Transformers: The Last Knight’ director Michael Bay will be a producer while ‘Bridge of Spies’ director Steven Spielberg will act as an executive producer.

‘Black Widow’ actress Scarlett Johansson is also on board to voice Elita-One. The rest of the cast includes Keegan-Michael Key as Bumble Bee, Jon Hamm as Sentinel Prime, and Laurence Fishburne as Alpha Trion.

Paramount Animation and Nickelodeon Animation president Ramsey Naito expressed enthusiasm for the project.

“I’m so excited and proud to be working with Hasbro and eOne to bring the first animated Transformers movie to theatres for a never-before-told story,” he said according to a Digital Spy article. “I’m honored to have such incredible talents come together to portray these well-known and much-loved characters in an origin story at the heart of the franchise.”

The origins of the Autobots and Decepticons prior to their arrival on Earth were explored in the unfinished comic book series ‘Transformers: The War Within’ by the now-defunct Dreamwave Productions. They would get a second look in the 2018 Netflix television series ‘Transformers: War for Cybertron Trilogy.’ The animated series ‘Transformers: Cyberverse’ also explored the origins of the Robots in Disguise.

Warhammer 40K Ultramarines Primarch Roboute Guilliman Figure Coming Soon!

“It was treachery at first. To turn against brothers, to kill for personal advancement and power. But we have seen them, how their minds and bodies have been corrupted. Their very belief systems have been warped. This is no longer Horus’s treachery. It is his heresy.” – Roboute Guilliman, Lord of Ultramar and Primarch of the Ultramarines Legion.

Joy Toy finally got to Roboute Guilliman, the Avenging Son, from Warhammer 40K. Decked out in some of the best-looking armor from the tabletop game’s past decade, The Blade of Unity is bound to look great in your collection even if you don’t play the legendary Games Workshop title.

Primarch Roboute Guilliman can be pre-ordered through the Big Bad Toy Store for $139.99. However, if picked up from Joy Toy directly, he’ll only set you back $125.99.

Don’t want to pay that much for the Primarch? You can always pick up the more petite figure for the tabletop game over at Games Workshop for $70.

I built and painted this figure last year; it was a great experience. Primarch Roboute Guilliman’s armor is so detailed that it provided a lot of challenge, but it was gratifying in the end.

I’m still trying to figure out why McFarlane Toys hasn’t made this figure yet. Then again, my experience with that company’s Warhammer 40K collectibles leaves much to be desired. Then again, there’s a $100 difference in price.

Roboute Guilliman comes with the following:

  • Helmet
  • Sword
  • A Pair of Hand

His is made of ABS and PVC. The number of articulated parts is not listed, but Primarch Roboute Guilliman looks nimble enough to get into some dynamic poses.

FaZe Clan Signs Stranger Things Actress and Sparks Controversy

The eSports company FaZe Clan is very popular among those who follow online gaming and streamers with large followings. However, the company has recently gone through a lot of turmoil from within following a series of controversies from its various high-profile members. The latest online controversy that FaZe Clan finds itself at the center of involves an actor turned streamer, as well as some of the clan’s founding members online. Instead of celebrating the addition of a new member, FaZe Clan finds themselves in the midst of an online mess.

Former Stranger Things actress Grace Van Dien was announced as the latest addition to FaZe Clan on May 25th, with a short video that revealed her joining the group. Grace played Chrissy Cunningham on the popular Netflix show before moving away from acting in pursuit of a career in Twitch streaming. Since leaving the show, Grace had become a successful streamer on Twitch with a large following. In the FaZe Clan announcement video, Grace cited her love for gaming and affinity for streaming on the platform.

The response to the announcement of Grace joining FaZe Clan was met with a very volatile response, both from fans of FaZe and members of the group. Members like FaZe Rain started sharing reaction videos to the announcement and began criticizing the company’s decision to bring Grace on board.

FaZe Rain claimed that the group only brought Grace on board because she was part of Stranger Things and that she didn’t know how the eSports industry worked. “Once again Grace I heavily apologize that you’re kind of in the middle of this… You seem like a very nice innocent girl and I know you have like no part in this and you really don’t understand what’s going on this all outdates you, you have no idea… I just have to make my point, it’s true… I know what I’m talking about…”

Infighting between FaZe Clan members continued on social media with various Twitter threads between multiple members. Dexerto posted updates between multiple FaZe Clan members sharing their opinions on the matter as new Twitter posts and stream videos were made about the topic everyone was debating about. The official FaZe Clan account shared a list of influencers that supported the company’s decision to add Grace to their ranks, which then saw responses from multiple FaZe members further criticizing them.

Grace eventually got on her own stream and responded to the backlash and debate about her inclusion in the group. She commented on the reactions from fellow FaZe members and the backlash from them was uncalled for. “FaZe Rain said that the only reason I was signed by FaZe was because I was on Stranger Things… I’m sorry sir, were you in the meeting with us? Were you there? No, I’ve never fucking met you… That is absolutely not why I was signed…” The exchanges between everyone eventually got more and more personal, with comments from both sides getting more severe and, in the eyes of everyone watching, crossed lines.

While some of the members of FaZe issued apologies over the discourse between them, many looking at the drama unfold felt most of it was insincere. FaZe Clan as a company is no stranger to drama and controversy, as it’s been embroiled in many scandals and conflicts between personalities in the past. The company has also had financial troubles after trying to go public and being delisted from the New York Stock Exchange back in early 2023. Despite everything up to now, it doesn’t look like FaZe Clan will be in the clear of any drama involving them any time soon.

What do you think about the controversy surrounding Grace Van Dien joining FaZe Clan? Have you ever really cared about what went on with the company or any FaZe members? Share your thoughts about everything down below in the comment section!
