I’ve heard Bubba makes a pretty good headcheese. Though, I’m not sure I want to know all the ingredients. In fact, I’d rather not eat anything made by a guy named Leatherface. I will, however, totally buy a statue of his iconic horror movie likeness.
Over at Sideshow, it was announced that PCS is producing two new statues based on Bubba Sawyer’s appearances in the original Texas Chainsaw Massacre. Dubbed “The Butcher” and the “Pretty Woman,” the master of slaughtering wayward strangers will be a welcome addition to any horror fan’s home. The statues measure about 28″ to 33″ tall, and the pair will cost $3,000 together or $1,580 and $1,680 separately.
Both versions of Bubba Sawyer come clad in fabric costumes featuring a lot of detail. While the iconic butcher version of Bubba is as intimidating as ever, his “pretty woman” mask is even more terrifying. His squealing echos in my head every time I look at him.
I think Gunnar Hansen would be proud of these two statues. Though we don’t see much of the actor’s face in the film, his stature and imposing presence can be felt via the statues. Sideshow
The Leatherface The Butcher Statue measures 29.5” tall and 16” wide as the cannibal charges through a doorway wielding a mallet, standing on a base inspired by the dilapidated Sawyer family home. His signature look features a tailored mixed media costume application, including a light pink collared shirt, black pants, a black necktie, and a yellow butcher’s smock with blood-like stains. The smock and tie have wire in the seams for posing, allowing you to craft more dramatic, dynamic movement in this pulse-pounding chase sequence.

This horror statue features a mixed media costume application, wearing a light pink collared shirt, black pants, a black necktie, and a navy suit jacket. The jacket and tie have wire in the seams for posing the fabric. Additional costuming details like the open fly, exposed cut on his right leg, and the charm bracelet on his left wrist help to complete this meticulous recreation.

Potential spoilers are ahead for the upcoming caped crusader movie The Batman. Though LEGO sets aren’t always direct one-to-one representations of the film they’re tied to, the random inclusion of some characters with certain sets points to spoiler territory.
We spotted a load of images from the new The Batman LEGOs at Superhero Hype. The cast of characters shown off includes everyone you’d expect: Batman, Catwoman, Alfred, The Riddler, The Penguin, and James Gordon. What stood out, though, was the Batcave set.
The packaging shows off the riddled in the Batcave running with Gordon about to intercept him. The “cave” isn’t very cave-like. It looks more like Batman’s gaming room. What is interesting is that Bruce Wayne comes in the box and is titled “Drifter.” This may have been an easy way to include a pre-Batman Bruce without dedicating a kit to whatever part of the movie this version of the character shows up in.
The other LEGOs include a Batman and Catwoman chase, Batman mowing down the Penguin in the Batmobile, and a Technic-scale Batmobile. These all range in price from $14.99 up to $99.99.
There appears to be a theme with the Batmobile in both sets. Blue flames will shoot out from the engine at multiple points throughout the car’s body. Does this Batmobile have an engine at the front and rear?
The Batman will finally be in theatres on March 4, 2022. LEGO | DCLEGO | DCLEGO | DC LEGO | DCLEGO | DCLEGO | DC
Personally, I’m not overly excited for this Batman movie. That’s not typical because I collect a lot of Batman stuff and can usually find something to like about just any project featuring the Dark Knight. I came across the new Batmobile Hotwheel last month, and if I’d not seen the movie’s logo on the packaging, I’d have easily mistaken it for something from the Fast & The Furious franchise.

Bumblebee and Optimus Prime are returning with new variants thanks to Super7. We spotted these three new figures over at the Big Bad Toy Store.
The first two we’re looking at are the Super Cyborg versions of Bumblebee. Now there’s a retro look for ya. The Super Cyborg Bumblebee features a removable chest plate that reveals the inner works of the Cybertronian being. He also comes molded in transparent plastic for that extra display power.
The Super Cyborg figures are priced at $84.99 and look to be shipping between this month and December 2021. Super7Super7
Also joining Bumblebee is a holly jolly version of the Autobots’ leader, Optimus Prime. Decked out in a Santa hat and with a festive glitter paint job, Prime is ready to dispense energon presents. Super7
Prime doesn’t come with a bunch of frills. But, aside from the glitter, Santa hat, and candy cane gun, he is still the same as his previously released 3.75″ Super7 figure. This guy is stocking stuffer material for sure.
Seeing the glitter coat makes me wish we’d get a Prime with a super glossy metallic flake paint job. But, if he is going to disguise himself as a truck, he may as well be the most badass looking semi!
Prime is priced at $17.99 and should be arriving just in time for Christmas.

Thanks to NECA’s next wave of Gremlins action figures, Gizmo, Lenny, George, Mohawk, and Daffy are back. Most of this batch includes retuning mogqais from Gremlins 2: The New Batch, but there is an additional little furball who stands out.
Punk Mogwai is an exciting look fellow. He even has a nose ring to go along with his unique fur pattern and dual mohawks. He doesn’t have a safety pin in his ear or any anti-establishment buttons, though—kind of a missed opportunity. But, Punky here does come with packaging that matches his interests.
The mischievous little creatures will be available starting March 2022. I’ve spotted them up for pre-order at the Big Bad Toy Store. The entire set is going for $104.99, while they can be purchased individually for $17.99 a pop.
NECANECA
NECA is bringing back some fan favorites long out of production plus adding a brand-new character. This fully poseable action figure assortment includes Gizmo, Mohawk, George, Lenny, and Daffy, plus the new Punk Mogwai (Commercial Appearance). Each figure features ball-jointed ears, necks, shoulders, forearms, wrists, hips, and fully movable eyes. A small ball carefully concealed on the back of the head allows you to move the pupils in all directions to create many different looks and expressions for your figures. Figures stand approximately 4″ tall (in scale with 7″ figures).
To celebrate the return of these mischievous creatures, the packaging has been updated to pay tribute to the classic trading cards.
Could we please get a heavy metal mogwai next? I’m talking hardcore. Like Cradle of Filth levels of metal. Just an abyss black mogwai with a skull outline on his face and maybe some blood-red streaks in the fur. Something that would get the uptight parents sending angry e-mails.
I miss when the offended people were just moms with too much time on their hands and not literally everyone in the world.

Sideshow Collectibles showed off two new statues at this year’s New York Comic Con. Unfortunately, these offerings come from two totally different spectrums. One is the spirit of vengeance, Ghost Rider. The other is the less than competent minion of The Shredder, Rocksteady.
At this moment, there’s not much information to go on. Hopefully, images and pricing will surface this coming week as reports from the convention pop up. In the meantime, check out the two photos that Sideshow teased online audiences with this weekend. Marvel | SideshowSideshow
The Ghost Rider diorama is blazing! I like that the sculptor went with the bleached white skull. That makes it really stand out from the flames and is an excellent callback to the character’s look in the late 1970s. The bike is cool, but I’m a more old-school fan who likes Blaze’s ’80s motorcycle.
The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles cartoon version of Rockstead looks just like you’d expect. However, there’s a noticeable absence of wash. So, the Punk/Rhino mutant retains his cartoony aesthetic.
Shredder is obviously in the background, but I’m not sure if he is a new statue or one that’s already on the market. From the purple cape, he’s probably another entry from the ’80s toon. However, his shin blades look metallic, which would contrast the whole animated look.

Now we’re moving forward! Arcade1Up is taking its cabinets further into the world of polygons with the release of NAMCO’s Ridge Racer! This release will also feature four additional racing titles: Ridge Racer 2, Rave Racer, Ace Driver, and Ace Driver: Victory Lap.
Pre-orders for the cabinet will kick off on November 22nd. Just in time for the holidays! We can’t state for sure if the cabinet ships before Christmas, though.
Arcade1UpArcade1Up
Let’s get you up to speed: originally released in 1993, Ridge Racer™ instantly kicked the racing genre into higher gear, with its revered graphics, gameplay and music. Fans and critics loved it, and now – close to three decades later – Arcade1Up is thrilled to bring it to you, as you remembered it.
Bringing you authentic (and yes, nostalgic!) arcade experiences in a home form factor, Arcade1Up game machines are must-haves for your family game room, fan cave, or a welcome distraction in the office. They play great, look great, and are instant conversation pieces.
Killer Instinct 1 & 2 will also come with multiple games, but not all from the same series. Instead, Arcade1Up is shoving in a few Rare classics: Battletoads (arcade) and Battletoads(8-bit and 16-bit home versions). I was hoping we’d get a standalone Battletoads cabinet, but that’ll do.
The KI cabinet will also feature wifi for online fightin’! Arcade1UpArcade1Up
Killer Instinct™. Fans loved it, critics loved it. For many retrogamer enthusiasts it’s a definitive title of the mid-’90s, with the gameplay, soundtrack, and 3D-rendered graphics all revered. Relive that video game era with this stop-you-in-your-tracks arcade cabinet, that also includes Killer Instinct 2™, Battletoads™ (yes, the arcade version!), Battletoads™ 8-bit, and the 16-bit version as a bonus game.
You wanted a killer addition to your home arcade collection, and once again Arcade1Up has heard your battle cries. Killer Instinct™ is here!
The Ridge Racer cabinet looks to be the same as the OutRun! one released earlier this year. Maybe this means we’ll also get some other car-themed arcade games like APB or Crazy Taxi?
I’ve not personally played the new racing cabinets, so I cannot comment on the quality of the build. I’d certainly like to try one out, though.
What are your thoughts on these two new releases? Let us know in the comments.

Arcade1Up has finally made the cabinet I’ve been waiting for: TRON! Based on the cult classic science fiction epic from Disney, the TRON arcade game was made up of several mini-games base on iconic scenes from the film. Later, cabinets were released with a new game, Discs of TRON.
Pre-orders will start on October 19th. The price was not readily available, but this one will probably range between $500-$600.
The TRON cabinet stood out in any dark bar, arcade, or dingy Chuck E. Cheese’s. Somehow it was always awash in UV light, and that blue glow of the translucent yoke practically dared you to give it all your quarters. Arcade1UpArcade1UpArcade1UpArcade1Up
The Arcade1Up Tron™ home arcade cabinet stays true to what made the game such a draw in 1982, right down to its signature inner lit blue joystick. Also included is the marquee game’s sequel, Discs of Tron™.
With its beautifully vibrant cabinet artwork, along with matching riser, stool, and crisp display graphics, the Arcade1Up Tron™ home arcade cabinet is an icon of ‘80s culture, and a stunning addition to your home.
TRON will have many of the same features as other Arcade1Up cabinets, but with a few added extras by way of lighting:
Responsive ink on control deck and screen adjacent inner side panels, illuminated by included blacklight under marquee.
Light-up front panel
Light-up flight stick
Light-up marquee
Custom designed cabinet and riser
Official Matching Stool Included
WIFI Enabled Leaderboard
Assembled Dimensions: 22.13 D x 19.72 W x 64.72 H
Box Dimensions: 12.38 D x 23.75 W x 47.75 H
Weight: 95.24lbs.

Now, I’d like to give a word of warning to those looking to purchase Arcade1Up machines, especially since the products have undergone an enormous price increase.
I’ve owned several cabinets from this company. Over the past two weeks, I’ve purchased their original Pac-Man cabinet and Mortal Kombat. The company has been making improvements over the years, but one thing that has irked me has been the price point.
Inflation has caused the cabinets’ price to skyrocket, taking a $400 machine up over $600. I hope Arcade1Up finds a way to counteract these increases because a cabinet with two or three games on is easily outpriced by a Retro Pi setup with a custom cabinet from Esty.
What sets TRON apart from the others is that the cabinet itself is also an experience. I wouldn’t mod this thing … too much. Arcade1Up machines are notorious for having cheap buttons and sticks.
The guy I bought the Pac-Man machine from said he only played it a dozen times before the stick would no longer register the down microswitch. It was a $10 fix, but when I took apart the control panel for the first time, I was amazed at the shoddy job someone did of soldering. There was glue all over the place, too.
It was a similar circumstance when I disassembled the MKII cabinet this past week. Glue was gunking up some soldered connections, making it a pain to fix, when I noticed the speaker crackling at the higher volume setting.
At that point, I decided to take out all the buttons, sticks, and speakers. I replaced them with a kit from Amazon, complete with LED buttons. Man, after drilling a couple of new holds and getting everything wired, it became a great cabinet. It currently resides in my office for when my employees need to vent some frustration.
Arcade1Up cabs come with highs and lows. The newer displays are good, and the disassembly and rewiring are so simple that even those with little to no electronics experience can do it without messing anything up. The price point and workmanship make me a little sour on buying these things brand new.
Nearly all of the ones I’ve purchased lately have been second-hand and at about 1/4 of the initial MSRP. A lot of buyers remorse. That’s the common reason why people are selling them so low. They buy a game they remember fondly, realize that’s all there is in the cabinet, then let it gather dust.
So, if you’re going to buy one, make sure that it is something you can see yourself keeping for a while. Luckily the TRON machine has so many aesthetic features that it can quickly become another piece of furniture in your home.

‘The Hunger Games: Catching Fire’ actor Jeffrey Wright first appeared as CIA Agent Felix Leiter in the James Bond reboot film ‘Casino Royale’ and has since appeared in ‘Quantum of Solace’ as well as the most recent entry to the franchise ‘No Time To Die,’ Daniel Craig’s final outing as 007.
In a recent interview with SyFy, the ‘All Day and a Night’ actor discussed his role as the secret agent and how it changed from ‘Casino Royale’ to his most recent appearance.
When asked about the relationship between Bond and Leiter, Wright explained, “I think it’s grown from the first film, in which they didn’t know one another, and they’ve come to rely on one another and come to trust one another over the course of time. And so they find themselves once again in the mix together, because of that trust. And I think they exist in a time and in a place when there’s not much to be trusted, and I think we see that play out as our film unfolds.”
Wright was asked how his approach to portraying Felix changed over time, he replied, “Well, it’s just changed with each script really. Just read the script, do what’s expected, do that, and try to do it within the context of a Bond film.”
He continued, “You know, I watched so many Bond movies growing up that I knew what it meant to perform inside one of those, at least in my head, and I just tried to do that from the start.”
Wright continued, “I guess it’s evolved from that first one, as I too, I guess, have gained a bit more confidence in what I”m doing, at least on screen, those are primarily my responsibilities. And it’s become easier to some extent because it’s been clear that fans have really dug what we’ve been doing with this. And so you kind of relax and then carry on doing what you’ve been doing, and try to do a little bit more on the next film. I’m quite pleased with the way we were able to button up this last one, so I’m psyched for people to see where we’ve gone with it.”
Jeffrey Wright is set to portray Commissioner James Gordon in ‘The Batman,’ with actor Robert Pattinson portraying Bruce Wayne. Felix Leiter was originally played by Jack Lord in the first 007 film ‘Dr. No’ and would be reprised by Cec Linder, Rik Van Nutter, Norman Burton, David Hedison, and John Terry.
HBO Max has announced a new two-part documentary series ‘What Happened, Brittany Murphy,’ directed by Cynthia Hill and produced with Blumhouse Television And Pyramid Productions. The feature promises to go “beyond the headlines” in discussing the life and tragic death of the actress who died at the age of thirty-two.
According to a press release, “the documentary is an intimate, in-depth character portrait of actress Brittany Murphy, going beyond the headlines to explore the mysterious circumstances surrounding her tragic death at 32 years old.”
HBO Max said, “A captivating actress as effervescent on-screen as she was off, Murphy was a rising star whose movies helped define a generation. But in 2009, Murphy’s untimely passing ended her promising career, while the mysterious circumstances surrounding her death quickly became fodder for speculation and conspiracy theories.”
“Featuring new archival footage and interviews with those closest to her, WHAT HAPPENED, BRITTANY MURPHY? goes beyond the tabloid rumors to examine the impact of Hollywood’s sexism on her struggles, as well as lingering concerns about her relationship with husband Simon Monjack. Sensitive and nuanced, the docuseries explores the legacy of a unique talent,” they continue.
‘What Happened, Brittany Murphy’ is set to be released on the streaming service on October 14th.
You watch the trailer here:
Brittany Murphy starred in dozens of feature films including ‘Family Prayers,’ ‘Clueless,’ ‘Girl, Interrupted,’ ‘ Sidewalks of New York,’ ‘That Ramen Girl,’ and ‘Happy Feet.’ She also had a starring role in the animated series ‘King of the Hill’ as Luanne.
On her performance in ‘Happy Feet,’ Murphy said, “Oddly enough, of all the characters I’ve played, Gloria is the most like me. And she’s a penguin! George Miller always wanted one person to do both [the speaking and the singing]. I said, ‘I can sing,’ and I asked him to give me a shot. I don’t think he took me very seriously, because most actors say they can do most things.”
Iron Studios returns from the past with a new Back to the Future statue. This we’re traveling to the far-off year of 2015 to join Doc Brown and Marty McFly as they attempt to fix the future.
Iron Studios is offering up this massive 1/10th scale three-piece diorama of Doc, Marty, and the time machine. Doc Brown is sporting his fashionable 2015 duds, while Marty does the same as he holds on to his Mattel hoverboard.
The DeLorean features opening doors and working lights, including the flux capacitor and Mr. Fusion receptacle. It’s hard to tell from the images, but I don’t think the time circuits, “Christmas tree,” or anything on the dashboard lights up.
The time machine, Doc, and Marty can all be purchased separately, too. The two characters are $149.99 each, and the DeLorean is $1999.99. These items should be arriving between October and December 2022. So just hop in the time machine and grab them then. I’m a picky guy when it comes to BTTF merchandise. I own quite a bit of it. This statue looks outright amazing, to be perfectly honest now; if this same level of detail is present when the final product ships is another story.
Iron Studios would do us fans an excellent service if they’d produce a BTTF II Biff VS Marty diorama with both Tannen’s car and the time machine. That may be a bit too big at 1/10th scale, though.
What do you think? More BTTF statues? Let us know in the comments.
