Rip and Tear With The DOOM Eternal Crucible Replica!

0

Do you have a desire to smash in the skulls of the undead and demon hordes? Are the evils of Hell something you want to cut up with ancient relics like the Crucible? Well, you can’t; however, you can own a replica of the Crucible that will sit nicely on your desk or shelf until the end times happen. With how things are going right now, that will probably happen in the near future.

The Bethesda Gear Store has opened up pre-orders for a full-size polyresin replica of the Crucible. Well, the hilt anyway. The argent energy blade is not included. The superweapon measures 12″ long by 3.7″ wide. Only 900 of these hilts will be made crafted, and each one is individually numbered. The handle comes with a forge-inspired base that is also made from polyresin.

Sculpted and painted in great detail, this 12-inch-long collectible has all the beautiful features of its in-game counterpart. Embossed on the pommel, shoulder, and cross guards are a number of symbols including the Mark of the Slayer. When not in your hands, the DOOM Eternal Crucible Hilt Replica can rest on its base, which resembles the red-hot forge that the Slayer uses to create a new blade.

Here’s a technical breakdown for you:

  • Limited Edition
    • Only 900 pieces worldwide
    • Individually-numbered
    • With Certificate of Authenticity
  • 1x Crucible Hilt
    • Bears insignia and the Mark of the Slayer
    • The hand guard is in closed position
    • Material: Hand-painted Polyresin
    • Argent energy not provided
  • Size
    • Length: 12 in (30.48 cm)
    • Width: 3.7 in (9.4 cm)
    • Height: 1.25 in (3.17 cm)
  • 1x Base
    • Resembles the forge where the Slayer creates the blade
    • Material: Polyresin
  • Size
    • Length: 10 in (25.4 cm)
    • Width: 3.9 in (9.9 cm)
    • Height: 1.2 in (3.05 cm)

The hilt is cool and all, but I’m more interested in the Doomslayer’s helmet or a replica of any variation of the BFG. What do you think?

The 90s Are Back With DC Rewind

0

DC is tapping that nostalgia button once again with the announcement that they are bringing back some fan-favorite characters and titles with DC Rewind. The event will bring back some artists, writers, and heroes like the WildC.A.T.S., who are originally from the WildStorm universe, a different imprint of DC Comics.

“The 1990s brought about some of the greatest moments in comics, including Wildstorm’s debut, Batman/Spawn crossovers, The Death of Superman and amazing covers that were reflective of the unique time in history. This November, DC is celebrating everything 90s with new Wildstorm and WildC.A.T.s comic series, special variant covers, reprints of classic comics and more,” DC said on their website.

WildC.A.T.S. writer Matthew Rosenberg said, “WildC.A.T.S. has always been a mix of everything I love in comics.”

He added, “From the very first issue it exploded off the pages with the coolest characters, the most gorgeous art, the craziest ideas, and it was never afraid to be subversive, go harder, and push things further than its contemporaries. Now we’re smashing all of that good stuff full speed into the heart of the DC Universe. I’d say we’re going to be respectful and try not to break things…but that would be a lie.”

November will also see the release of variant covers done in the 90s style for titles like ‘Action Comics’, ‘Batman Incorporated,’ ‘The Flash,’ and ‘Catwoman.’

They also announced the release of ‘Batman/Spawn: Classic Collection,’ a graphic novel featuring the crossover events involving the Dark Knight and the former king of Hell.

“Fans won’t want to miss this collection, in print for the first time in years, when it is available at comic book stores on November 15, ahead of the release of the highly anticipated Batman/Spawn from Todd McFarlane and Greg Capullo on December 16,” they said.

McFarlane released a teaser for the upcoming Batman/Spawn crossover on his Twitter:

It’s Been A Long Road To This ‘Enterprise’ Captain Archer Figure

EXO-6 has been creating premium Star Trek action figures for a while. The company’s catalog includes figures from nearly every Trek show, including Discovery. This week, we’re getting a collectible from Enterprise for the first time. It’s been a long road indeed!

While the toy has not appeared on EXO-6’s official website yet, Figures.com has the details and images of the captain of the NX-01, Jonathan Archer. The first space-faring Enterprise’s Captain is included, and so is his pup, Porthos! As we’ve seen with other characters in this toy line, Scott Bakula’s likeness is impressive.

Archer will stand about 12″ tall, and these EXO-6 collectibles typically cost approximately $200+.

Archer will come with the following features and accessories:

  • Fully Articulated Body: More than 30 points of articulation allow the figure to be displayed in multiple dynamic poses, approximately 31 cm tall.
  • Realistic Portrait: Archer’s portrait is lovingly rendered by top artists, with an excellent likeness of Scott Bakula. Each head sculpt specially hand-painted.
  • Starfleet Duty Uniform Jumpsuit: Meticulously researched, this duty uniform matches the pattern and color of the original costume recreated in 1:6 scale. The phase pistol holster attaches to a strap on the leg of the jumpsuit. Captain rank pips are permanently affixed on the right shoulder of the jumpsuit.
  • Boots: Soft plastic boots sculpted to match the cut and style of the original series footwear.
  • Display Base: A hexagonal display base featuring the transporter pad will provide additional support for the figure.
  • Hands: Six hands to display the various accessories.
  • Porthos: A 1/6 non-articulated figure of Archer’s beagle companion.

Pre-orders for Captain Archer are not available yet on EXO-6’s website; however, they are expected to start sometime today.

Halloween Retro-Inspired Action Figures Are Available Now!

0

These will be available for a very limited time. The fine folks over at Plastic Meatball have created a collection of three retro-styled action figures based on John Carpenter’s classic Halloween.

The trio of available figures includes Michael Myers, Laurie Strode, and PJ Soles! I mean, Lynda Van der Klok. Yes, Lynda is wearing clothes, but I’d totally buy a post-coital Lynda action figure. Each 3.75″ tall action figure comes with accessories and is attached to a unique retro-styled card back featuring artwork of the accompanying character.

The toys are $20 a piece and are expected to ship out ASAP. However, from personal experience, it’s usually about a week or so between ordering from Plastic Meatball and the figure being shipped.

Plastic Meatball

Plastic Meatball

Six-year-old Michael Myers murdered his sister on Halloween night.  He was locked away in Smith’s Grove-Warren County Sanitarium for 15 years.  On Halloween night in 1978 he escaped and returned home to Haddonfield to continue his murderous rampage!

Plastic Meatball

Plastic Meatball

Your average, wholesome 17-year-old high school student, Laurie Strode spends her time with friends and many night babysitting.  It was on Halloween night in 1978, however, that she experienced the horrific happenings known as the “Babysitter Murders!”

Plastic Meatball

Plastic Meatball

An 18-year-old high school student and cheerleader, Lynda Van der Klok prefers to pay more attention to the boys than her studies.  It was on Halloween night in 1978 that she experienced the horrific happenings known as the “Babysitter Murders.”

Plastic Meatball is the same company that gave us the first ever Time Bandits figures. I ordered Randall, and he goes great with my replica of The Map. I highly suggest picking this trio of figures up if you’re a John Carpenter or Halloween fan.

‘One Punch Man’ Season 3 Announced With A Poster

0

He is a hero for fun, but a hero nonetheless, Saitama will return to battle evil with his sidekick Genos in a third season of the hit anime ‘One Punch Man.’ Character designer Chikashi Kubota dropped a new visual in the form of a poster showing Saitama standing back-to-back with season two’s antagonist Garou, who wants to destroy the heroes.

“One Punch Man has confirmed a season 3 TV anime, with the announcement coming over 3 years since season 2 ended. There are no details yet,” Anime Corner reports.

The first season showed Saitama getting into the groove of becoming an officially licensed hero ahead of a massive alien invasion of Earth. The divisive second season followed the bald hero participating in a Martial Arts tournament while a villain called Garou is stalking several heroes in order to kill them plus a group of monsters seek revenge. Little is known about this new season.

Movie Web notes, “There had been some speculation over whether a third season of One Punch Man would happen following the response to the second series, which was a little on the divisive side. Following such an acclaimed first outing, some of the reactions to season 2 led many to wonder whether the anime would simply be put to bed. But it seems that those fears were misplaced, with the news of a third season sure to have fans excited to see Saitama and the wonderfully absurd world of One Punch Man make a return.”

With a third season on the horizon, no doubt Saitama, Genos, and the other members of the Hero Association will return to battle evil.

You can view the poster below:

‘One Punch Man’ is based on a manga illustrated by Yusuke Murata and written by an author known as One. It was originally self-published, though it was picked up by Jump Comics in Japan and Viz Media in the United States.

The first season of the anime was produced by Madhouse and the second season by J.C. Staff with Adult Swim developing an English dub. There is no word as of the writing of this article on who will be producing the third.

Sci-Fi Anime ‘Royal Space Force: The Wings of Honnêamise’ Is Getting A 4K Release

0

Japanese animator Hiroyuki Yamaga’s hit science fiction film ‘Royal Space Force: The Wings of Honnêamise’ is getting a 4K home video release for its 35th Anniversary thanks to a collaboration between Section23 Films and Bandai Namco Filmworks Inc.

Sentai Filmworks said on their website, “Section23 will offer the Japanese special edition of the product, complete with English subtitles, English dub, and gorgeous bonus features perfect for the discerning collector. Extra features include an audio version of the Pilot Film never released on laser disc, a BGM collection accompanied with many Image Boards, the “Document File,” released only in 1987, and more! The product will be distributed in North America concurrently with the Japanese distribution, allowing fans abroad immediate access to this exciting and exclusive rerelease.”

The film did not get an English dub until 1994 from Manga Entertainment with David A. Thomas, Heidi Lenhart, Wendee Lee, Bryan Cranston, and Steve Bulen starring.

You can watch the trailer below:

MyAnimeList describes the synopsis as follows,

“Shirotsugh “Shiro” Lhadatt may be a cadet in the Kingdom of Honneamise’s Royal Space Force (RSF), but he has never been in space before—in fact, nobody has. The RSF is often regarded as a failure both by the country’s citizens and a government more interested in precipitating a war with a neighboring country than scientific achievement. Following the funeral of a fellow cadet, an unmotivated Shiro is walking in the city one night, when he bumps into Riquinni Nonderaiko, a young, pious woman, genuinely enthusiastic about the significance of space exploration.

As the two gradually bond, Riquinni’s encouragement inspires Shiro to volunteer as a pilot for a prospective rocket ship, potentially becoming Honneamise’s first man in space. Shiro and the RSF are soon joined by a team of elderly but eager scientists and engineers, and together, they embark on a mission to mold their nation’s space program into a success. However, their efforts soon catch the attention of the government, which seems to have a different plan for the RSF in mind. Even as the odds are stacked against them, these men and women continue to stubbornly look to the sky, because somewhere among the frontiers of space may lie humanity’s last chance at redemption.”

Hiroyuki Yamaga worked on the film as both the director and writer. The movie was released in 1987 by the production companies Gainax, Bandai Visual, and Toho-Towa.

Send A Letter With The Royal Mail’s New Transformers Stamps

Stamp collecting and Transformers don’t typically go hand-in-hand, but the Royal Mail is giving us a reason to take up the hobby.

The Royal Mail offers pre-orders for a stamp sheet featuring the G1 Dinobots. The stamps are “canceled” via a postmark (see the images below). The set includes a silver-plated medal featuring Grimlock. The sheet of stamps showcases all five prehistoric Transformers: Slag (called Slug here), Grimlock, Swoop, Sludge, and Snarl. This collection is priced at £19.99 and is limited to 5,000 pieces. Each medal cover is individually numbered. Click here to pre-order yours. Yes, you can order them if you’re in the US.

The Dinobots aren’t the only Transformers available in stamp form. The Royal Mail is also taking pre-orders for an Optimus Prime Fan Sheet! For only £7.00, you get a stamp set featuring a reproduction of the 100th issue of the classic Transformers comic book. The three included stamps are all of Optimus Prime wielding his energon ax. Shipwreck & Zartan Join Super7’s G.I. Joe ReAction Figures

Super7 has finally made a wave of G.I. Joe ReAction figures that I’m interested in. Why? Because it includes Shipwreck and Zartan! OK, the Cobra B.A.T. figure is also sweet, just like it was in the 1980s, but come on. Shipwreck comes with a grappling hook, flintlock pistol, and his parrot Polly!

OK, the best thing about Wave 4 is the inclusion of Zartan. He was my favorite G.I. Joe figure when I was a kid. He looked fantastic and had a color-changing gimmick. That same feature is included with Super7’s version, too! Like his original figure, Zartan also comes with his pistol and backpack, including a mask.

The least exciting figure in this lineup is Cover Girl. Super7 says that this is the first time she has been shown in toy form, but I’m pretty sure that G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra had a figure of her in the accompanying toyline. So maybe they mean it’s the first time her cartoon version had a toy?

Cobra Commander and Snake Eyes reappear in this wave, but with some variations. The silent ninja is now disguised as a Cobra agent. The leader of Cobra now comes with his serpent staff and a cloak.

Each figure is $20, which is a $2 increase from what we’re used to seeing for these toys.

Super7

G.I. Joe fans who particularly enjoyed The M.A.S.S. Device, The Revenge of Cobra, Pyramid of Darkness, and Arise Serpentor Arise animated miniseries are definitely going to appreciate the newest wave of ReAction Figures!

Super7’s latest additions to the G.I. Joe ReAction Figure lineup include fan faves Shipwreck, Zartan, Cover Girl, and the Cobra B.A.T., and new versions of Cobra Commander and Snake Eyes.

Will you be picking up any of these figures? Does your mother still hang out at dockside bars? Let us know below.

NECA’s New Toony Terrors: Killer Klowns, Teen Wolf, They Live!

The 7th series of Toony Terrors includes a number of classic characters. The lineup consists of a They Live alien, Killer Klowns From Outer Space‘s Shorty (with popcorn Klowns), Teen Wolf himself (Scott Howard), and Ghouliana from The Beauty of Horror. Each figure is about 6″ tall, with the exception of Shorty and Ghouliana, of course. Expect these to show up in stores around the first quarter of 2023.

NECA

Two new Toony Terrors are on the way as part of a 2-pack. While you’ll have to find Shorty on his own, Slim and Chubby can be picked up together as part of a Killer Klowns set. Chubby’s ready to throw a deadly cream pie while Slim brandishes his cotton candy gun. There’s also a cotton candy victim included. I hope we get a version of Slim with his finger puppet t-rex, too. These two will be joining Series 7 in Q1 2023.

NECA

Speaking of Killer Klowns. Composer John Massari’s score for the film is finally available on vinyl! Well, it has sold out, but there may still be a chance to snag one in the future. Check out Waxwork Records for more details!
