0

Discotek Media is bringing a fan-favorite anime to fans in uncut format with the new release of ‘Digimon Adventure.’ This home video release will have all fifty-four episodes of the series. The release will not include an English dub but will have subtitles with the original Japanese audio.

Known as ‘Digimon: Digital Monsters’ in the United States, the show ran from March 7, 1999, to March 26, 2000, and was produced by Toei Animation. Hiroyuki Kakudō served as the director with Satoru Nishizono, who worked as the scriptwriter for the show. Katsuyoshi Nakatsuru did the character designs for the DigiDestined’s characters. Japanese entertainment studios WiZ, Bandai, and Fuji Television participated in the production.

Saban licensed the series in North America where it did a localized dub. The show would make its way to Fox Kids, Disney, and Cartoon Network.

Discotek plans to release their box set on July 25, 2023 though it is available for pre-order on the Right Stuf Anime website.

You can watch this clip from the show:

Discotek Media described the synopsis as follows,

“When seven kids went to camp for the summer, the last thing they expected was to be whisked away to another world, one populated by Digital Monsters! In this strange Digital World, the Chosen Children must unlock the powers within themselves to evolve their Digimon friends into new, more powerful forms and defeat the evil that threatens both worlds! From a battle with the evil Devimon and his Black Gears on File Island, to returning to Tokyo to prevent the vampire lord Vamdemon from finding the eighth member of the Chosen Children, then a return to a darker Digital World and the menacing Dark Masters – it’s all here in the complete collection of Digimon Adventure, the hit series that defined the childhoods of anime fans around the world!”

Digimon has had several spin-offs, video games, manga, and theatrical films.

The series has been frequently cited as a direct competitor to the Pokemon franchise.

NECA To Re-Release The Massive ALIENS Queen Figure!

After a few years of waiting, NECA announced that it will re-release the ALIENS Xenomorph Queen Deluxe action figure! This “mean mother” can be pre-ordered from the Big Bad Toy Store. The expected release date for the big baddie from ALIENS is September. She is priced at $139.99, which is a far better deal than what the figure is going for right now on reseller websites like eBay ($200+).

The Xenomorph Queen is in scale with the other ALIENS action figures. She stands 15″ tall and 30″ long (including the tail). The figure also sports a healthy amount of articulation with 30 points total. The tail is poseable as well, thanks to being molded around a wire. It’s unclear from the pictures, but this Queen may have a brighter blue tint to her armor than the previous releases.

Additionally, the Xenomorph Queen comes with two different inner mouths and a display stand.

“NECA’s most massive and most ambitious Aliens figure ever is the terrifying Xenomorph Queen from the 1986 Aliens film. She stands over 15″ tall and is over 30″ long, with over 30 points of articulation, including a spectacular poseable tail. Bring some of the movie’s most thrilling scenes to life in realistic detail because the Queen is completely in scale with NECA’s 7″ Alien action figure line. Includes a display stand and two different interchangeable inner mouths. Window box packaging.

Although the figure is impressive in scale, detail, and articulation, there are the usual NECA problems to contend with. Check out The Review Spot’s video on the previously released version of the figure below. You can also read our review of the 40th Anniversary Creepshow figure here.

I still want to know how this massive momma managed to sneak aboard the dropship without anyone noticing. What are your thoughts? Let us know below.

“Why hello fellow English dub connoisseurs! We’ve got great news to share. Although we already announced that the Urusei Yatsura English dub would continue uninterrupted starting in May, we didn’t tell you the exact date and time it would start (admittedly, one could deduce that since the keyword here was “uninterrupted,” but we digress). The wait is over because the dub continues on HIDIVE,” they said on their website.

Voice actress Jade Kelly (Call of the Night) has been tapped for the role of heroine Lum while Nathan Wilson (Knights of the Zodiac: Saint Seiya) will voice protagonist Atar.

Ataru thinks he’s had his lucky break at last, but when Lum takes a shine to him off the battlefield, the conflict follows him home as Lum invades not only planet Earth but also the womanizing Ataru’s love life!”

Nintendo Switch 2 Not Coming Anytime Before April 2024

Lately, it’s felt like there’s a new rumor about Nintendo’s next console that pops up every day. Many fans who have been eagerly awaiting new releases for the Nintendo Switch, such as The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, have been curious about what the next console after the Nintendo Switch will be. But while various rumors and insider reports have suggested that we could see what’s next for Nintendo fairly soon, the big publisher has put a stop to all of the speculations. Looks like Nintendo fans will be waiting quite a while for a Switch 2 console.

In a report published by Bloomberg, Nintendo President Shuntaro Furukawa spoke with everyone during an investor presentation and commented on what the company’s plans were moving forward. He mentioned that Nintendo did not have any plans to release brand-new console hardware within the 2023 and 2024 fiscal year. Instead, the company will focus its efforts on new releases for the current Nintendo Switch model, with big releases coming up very soon.

“Sustaining the Switch’s sales momentum will be difficult in its seventh year… Our goal of selling 15 million units this fiscal year is a bit of a stretch, but we will do our best to bolster demand going into the holiday season so that we can achieve the goal.” Said Furukawa during the investor presentation.

For those that are unfamiliar with a company’s fiscal year, this covers the timeframe from April to March of a given year. This means that we won’t see a new Nintendo console to follow the Nintendo Switch before April 2024. However, that could also mean that Nintendo fans could possibly have to wait longer as the company could decide to release new hardware long after that timeframe.

Many of the rumors passed around online through various outlets and industry insiders have suggested that a Nintendo Switch successor would be more powerful than the original model. Some have discussed that a new machine could have the ability to run games at 4K and have better overall visuals with quicker load times. Though many of the specifications thrown around have been largely unconfirmed or proven false, reports from outlets like Bloomberg in the last few years have continued to keep fans speculating.

What do you think about the news of a Nintendo Switch 2 not coming anytime soon? What kind of things do you want to see in a Switch console successor? Post your thoughts down below in the comment section and let us know!

Harley Quinn Joins Mondo’s Batman: The Animated Series 1:6 Scale Figures

Mondo‘s next 1:6 scale action figure has been announced, and it’s Harley Quinn! No, not the modern Harley, but the classic original from Batman: The Animated Series. Relive the days when DC wasn’t plastering Harley Quinn all over the place with this 12″ tall action figure.

Several of the accessories are based on the episode Harley’s Holiday. It was the 16th episode of Batman: The Animated Series‘ second season. It aired on October 15th, 1994.

In the episode, Harley Quinn is declared sane and released from Arkham Asylum. Unfortunately, Harley is driven back into her criminal behavior through a series of unfortunate events. However, we all know that society is to blame!

If Mondo wanted to make even more money, it would produce another Harley Quinn figure in her street clothing, complete with roller skates.

Harley Quinn may be preordered until May 16th. The expected ship date is September 2023.

Harley Quinn’s Timed Edition figure will come with the following:

  • Smiling Portrait
  • Smirking Portrait
  • Angry Portrait
  • Cheerful Portrait
  • Maskless Portrait
  • Hammer
  • Bud
  • Lou
  • Slab of Meat
  • Bowl
  • Bone
  • Batcuffs
  • Batman Belt
  • Mannequin arm
  • Purse
  • Sane Certificate Accessory
  • Joker Scepter
  • Poison Perfume Bottle
  • 5 sets of hands

The previously released figures, Batman & Joker, are still available. Those figures are based on the first two seasons of the cartoon, meaning they’re more detailed than the future streamlined, less expensive redesigns.

What do you think about Mondo’s various 12″ tall He-Man, X-MEN, and Batman action figures? Should DC Comics stop trying to rely on the character in all its media? Let us know in the comments section below.
