Mezco’s New ‘Halloween II’ Michael Myers Doubles as … Ben Tramer?!

Mezco is adding a new figure to the One:12 Collective line of premium action figures. As he appeared in Halloween II, The Shape, aka Michael Myers, has joined the toy line. So not only do we get the murder who stalked Haddonfield, but with a quick swap of his head, he also becomes Ben Tramer!
Michael Myers of 1981 comes packed with a bunch of accessories and two light-up pumpkins. He’s priced at $85 and can be pre-ordered now. However, his release window is between July and September 2022. Is that enough time for Loomis to rehabilitate him?

Mezco
Mezco
  • One:12 Collective body with over 30 points of articulation
  • Three (3) head portraits.
  • Hand painted authentic detailing
  • Approximately 17cm tall
  • Eleven (11) interchangeable hands including
    • One (1) pair of fists (L&R)
    • One (1) pair of hammer holding hands (L&R)
    • One (1) pair of knife holding hands (L&R)
    • One (1) scalpel holding hand (scalpel permanently affixed) (R)
    • Two (2) pairs of posing hands (L&R)
  • Tailored, weathered coveralls
  • Work boots
  • One (1) jack-o’-lantern with light-up feature
  • One (1) jack-o’-lantern with light-up feature and hidden skull
  • One (1) butcher’s knife
  • One (1) hammer
  • One (1) One:12 Collective display base with logo
  • One (1) One:12 Collective adjustable display post

It’s a cool nod to include the Kirk mask with white hair. I’ve always wanted a Ben Tramer action figure. It sucks that Halloween II is no longer part of the official timeline. Nothing in the hilariously awful Halloween Kills can surpass Ben’s death!

Xbox Series X To Get More Affordable Solid State Expansion Cards Soon

Now, after a year’s long wait, Seagate is finally releasing a new expansion card that is somewhat more affordable. For $139, XBOX owners can now get 512GB of extra solid state storage. That’s kind of better, but when will the prices come down? Or better yet, where are the competing companies that usually help lower tech costs?
The new cards should be arriving later this month. The 512GB ones are currently available for order at Walmart.com. Oddly enough, the 1TB solid state drives have not dropped in price too much. They were initially listed at $250 MSRP. That’s nearly the cost of a Series S console! The price slipped to $219 earlier this year.

  • Built-in partnership with Xbox to seamlessly match the full power of both the Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S.
  • Add 512GB of peak performance storage to your Xbox Series X or Xbox Series S without sacrificing performance.
  • Compatible with the Xbox Velocity Architecture—providing faster load times, richer environments, and more immersive gameplay
  • Achieve the same performance of the Xbox Velocity Architecture when playing games that have been optimized for Xbox Series X
  • Quick resume means gamers can switch between multiple titles in seconds—from either the internal SSD or the expansion card.
  • Easily plugin and play, or remove the card and take your games with you

The one major complaint I heard about the XBOX Series X was the lack of affordable storage. Since the console launched last year, your options were to use standard USB hard drives or Seagate’s 1TB expansion card for over $200.
With the USB hard drives, you could not take full advantage of the Series X’s power. If you were like me, you’d have quickly filled up the X’s internal storage in a matter of hours during the first day.
Let us know your thoughts on this generation of consoles’ storage issues in the comments.

0

Based on the popular video game from SEGA and 14Samurai, ‘Hortensia SAGA’ is a twelve-episode anime from Liden Films. It originally aired Tokyo MX and was picked up by the streaming service Funimation for a North American release and AnimeLabs for viewing in other countries.
Funimation announced that it had acquired the rights for an English dub to be released on their platform. Their website reported, “The Kingdom of Hortensia needs a hero! We’re excited to announce that the Hortensia SAGA English dub is officially headed to Funimation, and we’ve got all you need to know on the series cast and crew, release and more.”
They continued, “(All) 12 episodes of the Hortensia SAGA English dub will arrive on Funimation, which means your adventure with Albert, Marius, Maurice and more is about to begin (or begin again!). The English voice cast of the series includes Chris Hackney (Tower of God) as Alfred Albert, Laura Stahl (The Promised Neverland) as Marius Casterede and DC Douglas (Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure) as Maurice Baudelaire.”
“From Aniplex, studio LIDENFILMS (Tokyo Revengers) and director Yasuto Nishikata, Hortensia SAGA first aired as part of the Winter 2021 anime season on Funimation,” Funimation added.
You can watch the trailer for ‘Hortensia SAGA’ below:

According to MyAnimeList, the synopsis explains:
A violent rebellion in the capital led by Duke Rugis Camellia wreaks havoc on the Kingdom of Hortensia, leaving every member of the royalty either dead or missing. Barely escaping with his life, knight Maurice Baudelaire flees the ensuing chaos after his brother, Fernando Albert, is killed by a werewolf in battle.
To honor his legacy, Maurice treks to Albert’s house and delivers his son, Alfred Ober, his father’s sword. Despite his grief, Alfred is reminded of a vow he pledged with his father—to become a knight so that he could protect his land, the Albert Dominion.
Under Maurice’s tutelage, Alfred hones his combat skills to fulfill his promise. Training alongside him is Marius Casterede, an intriguing boy whose age seems to be more than meets the eye. Elsewhere, Pope Alexi Valdebron delivers the order to capture the missing princess and crowns Charlot D’Hortensia as the new king. Hortensia Saga is a tale of camaraderie and determination as Alfred, Marius, and Maurice work together with friends of past and present to bring forth light amidst Hortensia’s dark times.

HasLab’s Ghostbusters: Afterlife Proton Pack Is Almost Fully Funded

0

Hasbro’s newest HasLab crowdfunding project was only announced last Friday, and it is nearly at the funding goal. The Ghostbusters: Afterlife Spengler’s Proton Pack had been teased earlier in October and became a reality on October 27th. The funding goal was set at $7k, with each pre-order being $399.
The campaign had until December to meet the requirements needed to be sent into production, but with less than 1,000 backers left to go, this thing will certainly meet the initial goal. Now, will it more than double that amount to meet all the stretch goals?

  • – 7,000 backers to answer the call and officially fund the project
  • – 9,000 backers to unlock the Class I Unlockable Stretch Goal: THE CLASSIC BUNDLE
  • – 11,000 backers to unlock the Class II Unlockable Stretch Goal: THE GHOSTBUSTERS: AFTERLIFE BUNDLE
  • – 13,000 backers to unlock the Class III Unlockable Stretch Goal: THE SPENGLER SPECIAL
  • – 15,000 backers to unlock the Class IV Unlockable Stretch Goal: THE SUPERNATURAL STAND
Hasbro

Those are some hefty goals. But, seeing as how it hasn’t even been a week since the campaign launched and enough suckers (myself included) have pre-ordered, odds are some of those stretch goals will be met.
I had thought about covering this story when the pack first dropped on the 27th of October but wanted to wait to see if there would be a strong reaction. Sometimes even the most amazing crowdfunding campaigns can fail. See Mattel’s attempt to get the Ecto-1 made back in the early 2010s.
Well, it turns out that people really are interested in a toy-quality replica of a Ghostbusters proton pack. I’ve seen a lot of packs through the years, both at conventions and twice seeing a screen-used prop thanks to Sony.
A lot of care and craftsmanship goes into these things, and that’s hard to replicate with a $399 toy. However, this will have to do for those of us who cannot afford a $2k-$4k pack. At least it’s better than the Spirit one.
I’m not saying that this pack won’t be quality, but I’m not going to expect it to be something beyond the quality that we’ve seen with Marvel Legends and Star Wars Black Series replicas. They’ll look nice from a distance and have some impressive detail, but at the end of the day, you’ll still be able to tell it’s a mass-produced product with some cut corners. That’s acceptable, as long as Hasbro is upfront about it.
I don’t think Hasbro will hide anything from us, but don’t be surprised to find in 2023 many videos surfacing on YouTube with people complaining about production issues of some kind. What I’m most excited about out of all this are the secondary market’s addons and mods.
You may have noticed that there’s no neutrona wand in any of the pictures. There’s a simple answer. The pack doesn’t come with it. Instead, Hasbro is expecting you to pick up the one that’s been on the market since last year. You know, the one that is sold out everywhere and going for crazy prices on eBay.
Thankfully, Hasbro isn’t ignoring the issue, and more throwers are on the way to stores. Entertainment Earth has it listed right now for a February 2022 release.

Cosplay Duo Creates Life Size Ghost in the Shell Tachikoma

0

Halloween is upon us in full swing, with the perfect excuse to dress up as our favorite characters or creatures. They can be simple costumes or complex. But if you really want the ultimate challenge, why not try a robot? Better yet, how about crafting a life sized robot? A two-man team recently showcased their latest inspiration from the series Ghost in the Shell, with the robot character Tachikoma.

Meet Tachikoma:

Based in Kansai, Japan, cosplayers Heinz and Moetetsu specialize in making some pretty cool robots and armor-intensive cosplays. Aside from Tachikoma, the other robot inspired creations include Metal Gear and Armored Core.

The cosplay duo, called CosTeam5, got to show off the blue character in Osaka at the Super Robocos Expo, an all-robot cosplay gathering:

But wait, it’s a cosplay? A full scale cosplay robot? Yup! That means a person can control the robot from inside, just as one would for a Gundam, for example.

Here is a making-of video of CosTeam5 bringing Tachikoma to life:

Check out some of their other creations!

White Glint from Armored Core: For Answer:

Metal Gear REX from Metal Gear Solid:

It will be very interesting to see what CosTeam5 comes up with next. What do you think? Would you like to see what it would be like to control these cool cosplay robots like you would see in the games or animes?

0

‘Love Live! Nijigasaki High School Idol Club’ is an anime spin-off of the ‘Love Live’ Japanese animated franchise. The show was developed by Sunrise Studios and follows a musical club in their attempt to become popular idols at their school. The first season ended in December 2020 with a second season planned for April 2022. Shortly after this announcement, Funimation revealed that they had acquired the rights to produce an English dub.
“A new school means a whole new set of talented idols! We’re excited to announce that the Love Live! Nijigasaki High School Idol Club English dub is officially on its way to Funimation, and we’ve got your first details on release, cast and more,” Funimation said on their website. “… all 13 episodes of the Love Live! Nijigasaki High School Idol Club English dub will arrive on Funimation, so if you haven’t watched the series yet (or want to re-live the magic), there’s never been a better time.”
The English cast includes Madeline Dorroh (Wonder Egg Priority), Suzie Yeung (Pretty Boy Detective Club), Kayli Mills (Sword Art Online), Jill Harris (Black Clover), Shara Kirby (Kemono Jihen), Daisy Guevara (Akudama Drive), Laura Stahl (Edens Zero), Lisa Reimold (Gundam Build Divers Re: Rise), and Hayden Daviau (Goblin Slayer).
Funimation shared their excitement on Twitter:

MyAnimeList describes the synopsis:
“Buried within the numerous clubs at Nijigasaki High School lies the school idol club. The club, while lacking popularity, definitely does not lack potential. During their debut performance, they were able to seize a sizable audience, along with the attention of their schoolmates Ayumu Uehara and Yuu Takasaki.
Enamored, the duo makes their way to join the club; however, they are disappointed to find out that the club had just been disbanded. Nevertheless, Ayumu does not believe that it should have ended there. Together with Yuu, they begin restoring the school idol club, hoping to recreate the idol performances that dazzled them before.
Love Live! Nijigasaki Gakuen School Idol Doukoukai shines its spotlight over the reformed school idol club as they recruit both former members of the club alongside newcomers. Taking the first step toward their dreams, how will these girls achieve idol stardom?”
