“We Love Kirby” Is The First In First4Figures’ Mini Metals lineup!

0

Do you love Kirby? I mean really love him. Do you love the little pink glob enough to spend money on a tiny statue of him? If so, then break out that wallet and get ready to pre-order the newest collectible from First4Figures!

Unlike previous First4Figures statues we’ve covered, Kirbo isn’t coming in multiple colors or variants. Instead, one pink smiley plumper is what you get. However, since the We Love Kirby statue is the first in a new line of Kirby Mini Metals, he may be re-released in multiple colors down the line.

The mini metal Kirbo will be released during the second quarter of 2023, and if you act within the next 26 days during the “early bird” period, you can get the statue for $59.99 rather than $69.99.

First 4 Figures is proud to introduce We Love Kirby metal painted statue. This is the first metal statue in our all new Kirby™ Mini Metals lineup. The statue is inspired by the ‘We Heart Kirby’ sign that emerges from the ground at the end of the game. The ‘We Love Kirby’ statue is beautifully replicated by having the original scheme. The words “We Heart Kirby” are portrayed in gold and the heart is a bright metallic pink. The glossy finish in Kirby’s iris with the gradient makes him look more animated. His body and feet have a matte finish which makes it seem as if Kirby is holding up the sign himself.

Kirby is a no-frills release. There are no LEDs or interchangeable parts. This is all you get:

  • Metal painted statue
  • Highly detailed base inspired by Kirby™ art style
  • Pink velvet box with a purple strap
I wonder what kind of metal this Kirby is made from. The statue’s weight is 1kg, roughly over 2 lbs. Considering the figure is only 4″ tall and 4″ wide, that’s a hefty boy. I hope the paint is like a glaze and does not chip easily.

J. Scott Campbell’s Evil Queen? Yes, Please!

0

With Disney’s upcoming live-action adaptation of Snow White looming around the corner, merchandise related to the German fairy tale should be flooding the market soon. I’m sure we’ll see lots of direct-to-video knockoffs and loads of Disney collectibles, but I’m looking forward to all the things that end up in the “other” category. And by “other,” I mean stuff meant for the “Kidult” collectors. You know … like this attractive Evil Queen statue by J. Scott Campbell.

J. Scott Campbell’s Evil Queen has all the sex appeal you’d expect from the artist and a $475 price tag. The woman who wants to be the fairest in the land is curvy, busty, and wearing something that leaves little to the imagination. I’m not sure that the burgundy slingkini is a comfortable choice, considering its narrowly tapering down to her unmentionables. Still, I’m not royalty, so who am I to judge?

The Evil Queen and the Magic Mirror are made from polyresin and are currently available for pre-order from Sideshow. She measures 17.25″ tall, while her magical servant is 19″ tall. The two come as separate pieces, so they can be displayed any way you’d wish. Sadly, there are no LED lighting effects because the smoke and flame effects on both pieces would look pretty awesome if there were some.

Expect the duo to ship out sometime between May and August 2023.

Working closely with fan-favorite artist J. Scott Campbell, Sideshow has translated his iconic art style into a stunning three-dimensional celebration of reimagined classic fairytale characters like Cinderella, Red Riding Hood, Alice in Wonderland, and more. The Evil Queen and her Magic Mirror from the story of Snow White bring vanity and villainy to the collection with a pin-up twist.

Ken Ogiwara will be working on the anime as the director with Aya Satsuki handling the scriptwriting and Airi Takekawa doing the character designs.

HiDive said on their website that they plan on streaming the anime as part of their 2023 winter slate of releases.

Along the way they’ll make new friends, meet new rivals, and always strive to try their hardest with a positive attitude because after all, judo is awesome.”

‘Farming Life In Another World’ Finds North American Streaming Home

0

The anime streaming service HiDive has announced that they have acquired the rights, via Sentai Filmworks, to stream the fantasy isekai ‘Farming Life In Another World.’ The show will be released by the Japanese animation studio Zero-G with Ryōichi Kuraya working as the series director.

The series is set to be released in 2023 with HiDive saying it will be added to their Winter slate.

You can watch the trailer below:

The anime is based on a light novel series written by Kinosuke Naito, illustrated by Yasumo, and released by the Tokyo-based publisher Enterbrain. A manga version has also been published by Fujimi Shobo who serializes it in their ‘Monthly Dragon Age’ magazine. Yasuyuki Tsurugi handles the illustrations for the manga.

The Isekai Nonbiri Nouka Fan Wiki describes the synopsis as follows,

People are drawn to him due to his serenity of living peacefully despite living in a highly dangerous place. Initially people came to him due to the needed sanctuary from the hostility of the world and the food he raises which is uniquely grown by him alone due to his enchanted farming tool. Also, many early who were humanoid were females develop mad crushes on him.”

‘Farming Life in Another World’ was originally published as a web novel on the Shōsetsuka ni Narō online publisher.

Gear Up With Magnoli Clothiers’ ‘Ghostbusters’ Jumpsuits

0

With the news that the HasLab Ghostbusters Proton Packs may be shipping early, you may want to start looking for Ghostbusters jumpsuits. Sure, it’s easy enough to make your own, but not everyone wants to assemble all the pieces and patches. For those who want something more turnkey, Magnoli Clothiers has what you need.

The clothing company specializes in cosplay and has three versions of the “Paranormal Jumpsuit” available for order. Unfortunately, these replicas of the iconic tan uniforms are made-to-measure, meaning there will be a wait time. Luckily, this also means your jumpsuit will be a better fit than ordering from the standard small/medium/large chart. Trust me; custom tailoring is worth the wait when it comes to one-piece uniforms like this.

The three available versions are:

  • Version 1: Tan Rip-Stop Cotton (now available with optional Afterlife-style distressing)
  • Version 2: Tan Herringbone Cotton
  • Version 3: Charcoal Grey Duck Cotton (Hose connector not included)

The Rip-Stop cotton looks the most accurate to the original 1984 Ghostbusters. However, the Charcoal Grey version looks fantastic, even if Ghostbusters 2 wasn’t the best film. Distressing is also available for the Rip-Stop suit, which makes it look dirty. The name tag is also customizable; you can choose whether to have the hose connector sewn to the suit. Each jumpsuit is $225, and the optional distressing is $30. Magnoli Clothiers offers accessories, too. These include lace-up boots, a black long-sleeve undershirt, and a replica of the Gozer Papyrus from Afterlife.

The bad news is that the wait time is eight months. This is fine if you’re only going to lug around Spengler’s Proton Pack for Halloween. However, if you want to do Comic-Con cosplaying, you’d better assemble your suit from Amazon.

The one-piece jumpsuit is available in three versions, all with multiple pockets, heavy-duty brass zippers, and adjustable velcro tabs on the waist and cuffs. Includes customized name patch, leg-hose connector and can be made-to-measure for a custom fit or to standard sizing.

Pizza Tower Is Finally Coming To Steam In 2023!

0

For years I’ve been playing a demo of a fast-paced and lovingly animated game called Pizza Tower with hopes that it would someday be released on some major platform or service. Finally, that day appears to be coming soon, according to Pizza Tower’s Twitter!

The Steam page for the game lists a release date of January 26th, 2023. So better ask grandma for Steam gift cards this Christmas!

If the gameplay videos of this upcoming title look similar to a specific Nintendo property, that’s on purpose. Pizza Tower should feel familiar if you’ve played old Wario Land games. The gameplay shares some of the same mechanics, with apparent references here and there. The story is a simple one. Peppino Spaghetti is on a quest to save his restaurant from the titular Pizza Tower.

Pizza Tower is a fast-paced 2D platformer inspired by the Wario Land series, emphasizing movement, exploration and score attack. Featuring highly stylized pixel art inspired by the cartoons from the ’90s, and a highly energetic soundtrack.

Pizza Tower’s demo is still available on the game’s official website. Keep in mind that this slice of the game was created in 2019 and does not incorporate all the updates, changes, and features of the final build. Controller support is one of the most important additions I’ve been waiting for since the Sage demo. Although the game is fully playable with a keyboard, I feel that an old-fashioned Nintendo-styled controller would make the entire experience much more enjoyable.

The system requirements for the indie title are pretty slim, so anyone should be able to play this game:

  • Requires a 64-bit processor and operating system
  • OS: Windows 7
  • Processor: Intel or AMD Dual Core CPU
  • Memory: 512 MB RAM
  • Graphics: GeForce GT 1030 (2 GB) or equivalent
  • DirectX: Version 11
  • Storage: 300 MB available space

What do you think of this game? Let us know below.

Netflix Taps Tyler Perry To Write, Direct, And Produce World War 2 Film About An All-Black Female Battalion

0

‘Madea’ star and director Tyler Perry continues his expansion into other genres with the announcement that he would be tackling a World War 2 project for Netflix.

The ‘A Fall From Grace’ director will direct, produce, and write the upcoming film ‘Six Triple Eight,’ which tells the story of “6888th battalion, the only all-black, all-female battalion in the World War II effort.”

Along with Perry, Nicole Avant, Keri Selig, Carlota Espinosa, Angi Bones, and Tony Strickland. Peter Guber of Mandalay Pictures will work on the project as an executive producer.

According to Netflix, “The story of the 6888th Postal Directory Battalion has been kept out of history books, ignored by the national spotlight, until now — nearly 75 years later. On March 14th, 2022, President Joe Biden signed the bill for the women to receive the Congressional Gold Medal, Congress’ highest honor.”

Tyler Perry had previously directed other projects for the streaming service including ‘A Fall From Grace,’ ‘A Madea Homecoming,’ and ‘A Jazzman’s Blues.’

Netflix describes the synopsis as follows,

“Six Triple Eight tells the inspiring true story of the incredible and brave women of the only all-black, all-female World War 2 Battalion. These 855 women joined the war effort with little knowledge of what exactly they would be doing, but were quickly given the mission of a lifetime: sort through and fix the three-year backlog of undelivered mail. A herculean task, that most thought to be impossible, the women not only succeeded but did it in half the time they were given. Facing discrimination, unfamiliar land, and a war-torn country, they persevered and sorted over 17 million pieces of mail, reconnecting American soldiers with their families and loved ones back home. The motto that kept them going each day was one they created themselves: “No Mail, Low Morale.” The women of the 6888 weren’t just delivering mail, they were delivering hope.”

The movie is based on an article in Sovereign Media’s ‘WWII History Magazine’ by Kevin M. Hymel.

You can watch the full opening below:

AniList describes the synopsis as follows,

The story revolves around Touka Kamiazuma, the main protagonist, and his encounter with a young girl named Momoka Kawakabe who comes to stay with the clan. Their meeting sets off a chain of events that will bring an ancient legend to life.”
