Amazon Prime Partners With BBC For Social Media Inspired Thriller ‘Chloe’

Amazon Studios is partnering with the BBC to stream their upcoming six-part miniseries, ‘Chloe,’ a psychological thriller that is inspired by social media and how influencers impact our daily lives. The show is set to be released on BBC One and will stream to Amazon’s Prime Video app. Erin Doherty, best known for playing Princess Ann in ‘The Crown,’ will headline the series.
The official show synopsis reveals “‘Chloe’ follows Becky Green (Doherty), who has been watching Chloe Fairbourne (Poppy Gilbert) via her perfect social media images for some time. Chloe’s charmed life, adoring husband, and circle of high-achieving friends are always just a click away, and Becky can’t resist peering into a world that contrasts so starkly with her own, as she cares for her mother, who has early-onset dementia, in their small seaside flat on the outskirts of Bristol, England. When Chloe suddenly dies, Becky assumes a new identity and infiltrates the enviable lives of Chloe’s closest friends to find out what happened to her.”
Series creator Alice Seabright (Sex Education) told Variety, “Becky is a complex, courageous heroine and there is no one better to play her than Erin. All these characters have been a dream to write, and it now feels like they’ve found their soulmates in our amazing cast. I can’t wait to start bringing the show to life with them, and with our wonderful crew. Thank you to the BBC and Amazon, to our brilliant writers, Kayleigh Llewellyn, Poppy Cogan, and Bolu Babalola, and to my partners in crime – the powerhouses Tally Garner and Morven Reid.”
The limited series is co-produced by the BBC, Amazon Studios, and Mam Tor Productions with Banijay Rights earning the rights to distribute it internationally to over 240 countries.
Amazon released a set of “first look” photos, highlighting the cast of the show:
