Official replicas from Universal’s Back to the Future and Knight Rider are finally here. Finally, after years of relying on unlicensed sources, studios realize that there’s a market starving for this sort of stuff.
We’d previously covered officially licensed B.T.T.F. props from Doctor Collector in 2021. The same company has again teamed with Universal to bring us the space-time continuum disrupting Grays Sports Almanac, complete with a Blast From The Past store bag and receipt. The almanac is filled with sports scores and stats from 1950 thru 2000.
Although Doctor Collector claims this is the first time an accurate almanac has been created, this isn’t entirely true. I own a replica of Grays with sports scores. It was available on Amazon a few years ago for around the same price.
This Blast From The Past set can be pre-ordered for $21.95 and is due out at the end of March.
The next batch of collectibles is from Knight Rider. Doctor Collector has an all-in-one F.L.A.G. Agent Kit, a K.I.T.T. key, and a Comlink watch. The Agent Kit is available now for $79.99 and includes the Comlink and key, but separately they’re $24.99 and $16.99. The watch and key are set to ship out in March.
The communicator watch is another item that has been floating around on eBay for decades. The key, however, is a first for me. A red jewel Knight Industries logo is an excellent touch and a detail that’s sometimes overlooked. So the next time you see K.I.T.T. at a car show, look at the steering wheel. If you spot the same bejeweled emblem on the steering wheel, you’ll know that the person who built K.I.T.T. knows their stuff.
The best way to get all Knight Rider-related goods is to get the F.L.A.G. kit. It includes badges, pins, the watch, key, keychain, patches, and more. Not bad for the price. Everything comes in a metal box loaded with detail.
