What’s Better Than A Darkstalkers Felicia Statue? Three Felicia Statues!

Ah, I remember when I was first introduced to Darkstalkers during my teenage years. A horror-themed fighting game that doesn’t shy away from sex appeal. I can’t tell you one thing about the game’s storylines, but I can tell you that I usually picked Felicia. Something about a nearly naked cat lady makes you glad to be alive.

Now I can make all my employees feel uncomfortable coming into my office by proudly displaying a 16″ tall resin replica of what I consider the perfect woman. Of course, I have to give them paychecks so I can afford the statue. I’m sure they’ll understand.

Yes, First4Figures is up to their old tricks and made three versions of the Felicia statue. The base collectible is barebones and gets the job done, while the other two add LED lighting and additional accessories.

Check out the details and pictures below. Don’t worry. I won’t judge you if you stare at them for too long. OK, I’m already judging you just because you clicked on this story.

Trailer Dropped For ‘The Great Cleric’ Anime Adaption

0

Based on the light novel series by Broccoli Lion, the Japanese animation studios Yokohama Animation Laboratory and Cloud Heart are debuting an anime adaption of the slice-of-life isekai fantasy ‘The Great Cleric’ in July 2023.  Fans in the United States will be able to enjoy it on the Crunchyroll app. Directed by Masato Tamagawa, the producers dropped a teaser trailer for the upcoming show.

You can watch the trailer below:

The anime stars Reiji Kawashima (Shadow House, Sugar Apple Fairy Tale) as the protagonist Luciel. It also stars Akio Otsuka, Tomoaki Maeno, Daisuke Ono, Rika Kinugawa, Hina Tachibana, Manaka Iwami, Mikoi Sasaki, and Showtaro Morikubo.

The light novel series is illustrated by the artist known as Sime and published by Micro Magazine since 2016. J-Novel Club releases it in the United States.

J-Novel Club describes the synopsis as follows,

“One moment, a certain salaryman is on cloud nine, that promotion finally within his grasp, and the next, he’s keeled over pain, and that was all she wrote. Luckily for him, fate had a bit more to say. A world of magic, monsters, and other such life-shortening entities await his newly reincarnated self for a second shot at life. With nothing but his past-life experiences and sharp business skills to guide him in the foreign lands of Galdardia, he takes up the name Luciel and vows that his (next) demise will be from naught but old age. And what better way to avoid a(nother) gruesome death, than by taking up a nice, cushy job as a healer? But getting by in another world doesn’t come easy, or cheap. It’ll take a lot of blood, sweat, and tears to hone the skills he needs to make his way. But make it he will…or die (again) trying!”

The Tokyo-based publisher Kodansha releases a manga version that is released in the United States by Vertical.

Wolverine Returns to Mezco’s One:12 Collective

Wolverine has finally returned to Mezco’s One:12 Collective. This time, Logan is sporting his early 1990s Uncanny X-MEN uniform and a more attractive price tag!

Wolverine will ship out following this year’s San Diego Comic-Con. As of publishing, the One:12 Collective figure is still available for pre-order. He’s listed at $85 and is limited to two per person.

Uncanny X-MEN’s Wolverine comes with the following:

  • Four (4) head portraits
  • Hand painted authentic detailing
  • Approximately 16cm tall
  • Twelve (12) interchangeable hands
    • One (1) pair of fists (L&R)
    • One (1) pair of clawed fists (L&R)
    • One (1) pair of clawed posing hands (L&R)
    • One (1) pair of holding hands (L&R)
    • Two (2) pairs of posing hands (L&R)
  • X-Men team suit
  • Wrist gauntlets
  • Combat gloves
  • Belt with X-Men insignia
  • Knee-high boots
  • Five (5) slash FX (fits onto claw hands)
    • One (1) small slash FX
    • One (1) small strike slash FX
    • One (1) medium strike slash FX
    • One (1) long slash FX
    • One (1) “X” slash FX
  • One (1) One:12 Collective display base with logo
  • One (1) One:12 Collective adjustable display post

This yellow and blue uniform came about during Jim Lee’s time working on Uncanny X-MEN. Most of Xavier’s mutants wore these similar duds for a while before going back to being more individualistic.

In fact, one of the best early Toy Biz Wolverine action figures was based on this look. While it worked for Logan, it wasn’t all that great for Gambit and Psylocke.

The previously released Deluxe Steel Box Edition Wolverine can still be picked up from the Big Bad Toy Store. That one is $155 but is packed with loads of accessories and eight interchangeable head portraits.

What is your favorite Wolverine costume from the mutant’s past 49 years? Let us know in the comments section below.

ThunderCats Ultimates Wave 9: WilyKat And ReColored Figures…

Here we are. Nine waves into Super7‘s ThunderCats Ultimates, the well may finally run dry. Over the past couple of years, we’ve seen this line rehash Lion-O and Jaga more than once.

It’s happening again. Jaga is getting the retro LJN recolor to match the original 1980s toy line this time. Woo.

Hey, at least we’re finally getting WilyKat. I believe this officially rounds out the core cast of heroes and villains. Could this mean the line will conclude soon? Maybe. There are still characters that could be produced, but how many people are paying $55 for one-off side characters?

Pre-orders for ThunderCats Wave 9 will close on August 4th. The estimated release date is set for May 2024.

If you’ve got a Best Buy nearby, you can check out some of Super7’s Ultimates figures, including the Hook Mountain Ice version of Lion-O.

0

PlayStation owners and fans of the Japanese video game developer Type-Moon got some good news. The visual novel ‘Tsukihime: A Piece of Blue Glass Moon’ remake is getting an English translation and will be available for multiple consoles.

“Over the weekend at Anime Expo, Aniplex announced that TSUKIHIME -A piece of blue glass moon- will be getting an English release in 2024. -A piece of blue glass moon- is the first in the remake series with a follow up that remakes the “far-side” content, -The other side of red garden-, already revealed, though with no Japanese date confirmed but will be getting an English release in the future,” Crunchyroll said on their website. “TSUKIHIME -A piece of blue glass moon- is set to be released in English on PlayStation 4 (and on PlayStation 5 through backwards compatibility) and Nintendo Switch in 2024.”

Aniplex posted a teaser for the English version on their Twitter:

Wikipedia explains, “The game’s plot follows the perspective of protagonist Shiki Tohno, a second-year high school student in the fictional town of Misaki. He suffers a life-threatening injury at a young age. After regaining consciousness, he gains the ability to see “Death lines” – lines by which things, living or not, will eventually break when they die. Due to his injury, Shiki has immense headaches as his mind cannot cope with the sight of death. Soon after he is given special glasses from Aoko Aozaki that blocks the sight of these lines. Due to his injury, Shiki is exiled by his father to a branch family of the Tohno household. Eight years later, he returns to accompany his sister after his father died. After moving back, Shiki has trouble adjusting to the old-fashioned lifestyle his sister lives by.”

The Japanese animation studio J.C. Staff produced an anime adaption of the video game in 2013 directed by Katsushi Sakurabi and written by Hiroko Tokita.

European Animated Film ‘Chicken For Linda’ Being Brought To North America

GKids is bringing the European animated film ‘Chicken For Linda’ to the United States for a run in cinemas and for a home video release. Directed by the husband and wife team Chiara Malta and Sébastien Laudenbach, the duo also wrote the screenplay.

“GKIDS, celebrating its 15th anniversary as a producer and distributor of award-winning and artist-driven animation from around the world, announced today it has acquired the North American distribution rights for the hand-painted animated drama-comedy CHICKEN FOR LINDA! (Linda veut du poulet!), which will play in-competition at this year’s Annecy International Film Festival. CHICKEN FOR LINDA! was an official Cannes selection in this year’s ACID program, and was previously teased at a sold-out Work-in-Progress session at last year’s Annecy International Film Festival,” GKids said on their website.

They added, “GKIDS will release CHICKEN FOR LINDA! theatrically in 2024, following a domestic release in France this October. International sales are represented by Charades.”

GKIDS’ President David Jesteadt expressed his excitement in a statement, “Chicken For Linda! is a breath of fresh air in animation.”

“Through pairing such a unique and daring visual style with a deeply emotional and universal story about family, directors Chiara Malta and Sébastien Laudenbach have given us something both timeless and new, that we cannot wait to share,” he continued.

You can watch the trailer below:

GKids describes the synopsis as follows,

Linda immediately asks for a meal of chicken with peppers, which reminds her of the dish her father used to make. But with a general strike closing stores all across town and pushing people into this streets, this innocent request quickly leads to an outrageous series of events that spirals out of control, as Paulette does everything she can to keep her promise and find a chicken for Linda.”

The movie stars Clotilde Hesme, Laetitia Dosch, Estéban, Claudine Acs, Patrick Pineau, and Mélinée Leclerc.

Trailer Drops For Anime Adaption Of Korean Web Novel ‘Solo Leveling’

0

‘Solo Leveling’ is a South Korean web novel series written by Chugong and was later illustrated by the late artist Jang Sung-rak credited as Dubu. It was published between 2018 to 2021 by D&C Studio. The Japanese animation company A-1 Pictures announced that they would be producing an anime based on the series and that Crunchyroll would be airing it in the United States. They also released a full trailer to celebrate the announcement.

“The new trailer, revealed by the series’ producer on stage, gives us a brief introduction to a handful of characters we’ll meet in the series, including protagonist Sung Jinwoo, Yoo Jinho, Baaek Yoonho, and Cha Hae-In,” Crunchyroll said on their website. “Adapted from the digital comic series published on Tappytoon of the same name by DUBU (REDICE Studio), Chugong and h-goon, the anime series was first revealed by Aniplex and Crunchyroll at Anime Expo 2022.”

You can watch the trailer below:

The anime is directed by Shunsuke Nakashige and written by Noboru Kimura. The character designs are being handled by Tomoko Sudo with Hiroyuki Sawano composing the music for the show.

AniList describes the synopsis as follows,

“In a world where awakened beings called “Hunters” must battle deadly monsters to protect humanity, Sung Jinwoo, nicknamed “the weakest hunter of all mankind,” finds himself in a constant struggle for survival. One day, after a brutal encounter in an overpowered dungeon wipes out his party and threatens to end his life, a mysterious System chooses him as its sole player: Jinwoo has been granted the rare opportunity to level up his abilities, possibly beyond any known limits. Follow Jinwoo’s journey as he takes on ever-stronger enemies, both human and monster, to discover the secrets deep within the dungeons and the ultimate extent of his powers.”

The webcomic is also known as ‘Only I Level Up’ in other markets. Yen Press acquired the license to publish an English version in North America.

Egon Lives On Thanks To New Ghostbusters Statues

Although the next Ghostbusters sequel may be delayed, we should still expect loads of new collectibles to hit the market soon to capitalize on the return of the paranormal exterminators to the silver screen. One such collectible pays homage to Egon.

Premium Collectibles Studio is set to produce a 1:4 statue of the iconic egghead. The 19″ tall Ghostbuster comes with an optional proton stream and Slimer. Not bad for $652.20. If only he came with a destroyed portion of the Sedgewick ballroom’s bar to help recreate the whole “Nice shooting, Tex” scene!

There are no lights or sounds built into the statue, sadly.

Egon is expected to roll out of the firehouse around the first quarter of next year.

Every aspect of Egon’s phantom-conscious uniform is highly detailed, complete with protective elbow pads and practical gold cargo zippers. From the custom nametag to the Ghostbusters arm patch, every element has been thoughtfully recreated, ensuring an authentic representation that transports you directly into the realm of the paranormal.

Here’s everything that comes in the box:

  • Fully Sculpted Statue
  • Proton Stream
  • Slimer Accessory
  • Environment Base
  • 1 in 150 Chance of Winning a 1oz Silver PCS Coin
  • Coin Includes PCS Ruby Ticket Worth $100 in PCS Loyalty Points
  • Metal Certificate of Authenticity
  • Custom PCS Statue Cleaning Kit

I’m always glad to see a screen-accurate Slimer. I don’t know why his design fluctuates so much when it comes to the collectibles market. He needs to have a big butt and a giant, smiling maw.

Speaking of likenesses, Ego doesn’t look much like Harold Ramis. The statue makes him look more like Stephen Colbert. I don’t think this will change with the final product.

Hopefully, PCS will make the other three Ghostbusters and the likenesses improve.

Buy These New RoboCop Statues Or There Will Be … Trouble

RoboCop collectibles are some of my favorite things to cover, mostly because they’re rare these days. It has been over a year since the last time I talked about any. Thankfully, Premium Collectibles Studio has just announced a pair of pricey but awesome-looking RoboCop statues!

Standing 28″ tall, Alex Murphy is packing his Auto 9 pistol, ready to turn criminals into goo. PCS’s Deluxe Edition RoboCop statue comes with swappable arms allowing the piece of OCP property to have two iconic poses.

Murphy will be produced in a very limited quantity. Two hundred seventy-five pieces of the 1:3 scale statue will be shipped out during the first quarter of next year.

Paying homage to the groundbreaking film that revolutionized the sci-fi genre, RoboCop measures 28 tall and 19 wide, wielding his trusty Auto-9 handgun and standing on a detailed environment base.

If you’re also a fan of RoboCop 2, PCS will also produce a statue featuring Murphy in his slightly more colorful armor. However, this version of the cyborg law enforcement officer is even rarer than the original.

The Platinum Exclusive RoboCop 2 statue is limited to only 75 copies. You can’t buy that for a dollar, but you can for $1,305.

Expect Alex to ship out sometime between February and April 2024.

“RoboCop’s diligently crafted reflective paint application portrays this cutting-edge cop as he appeared in the ultra-popular film series with radical precision. Posed in an engaged and commanding stance, every element of RoboCop’s high-tech armor is recreated in vibrant detail.

The sequel statue includes the following:

  • Fully Sculpted Figure
  • Swap-Out Right Arm
  • Environment Base
  • 1 in 75 Chance of Winning a 1oz Platinum PCS Coin (Includes PCS Ruby Ticket Worth $200 in PCS Loyalty Points)

What do you think of the two RoboCops? Which version of the OCP armor do you prefer? Let us know in the comments section below.
