Hicks was my favorite colonial marine. I mean Hudson. He knew right away he wanted out of this assignment before leaving the Sulaco. He may have enjoyed the express elevator to Hell, but Hudson wasn’t ready for the nightmare on LV-426.
We learned via Figures.com that a new version of Hudson was hitting their already awesome ‘ALIEN’ line of action figures. This one is based on the scene after the dropship crashed, leaving Hudson, Hicks, Ripley, and the others stranded. He even comes with a unique blister card with his now infamous cry, “Game over, man! Game over!”
When you’ve just narrowly escaped from the Atmosphere Processing Plant with only part of your squad, having your UD-4 Dropship crash can do some serious damage to your calm and sense of well-being, as PFC. Hudson can readily attest. This 3.75” fully articulated Aliens ReAction figure of Marine Squad Leader W.L. Hudson depicts the famous “Game over, man!” moment from the classic sci-fi movie. We all have our “Game over, man!” moments, so order this Aliens ReAction figure of Hudson’s famous moment of crisis to remind yourself that as bad as it seems, things will eventually work out… unless you’re dragged away by Xenomorphs in a blaze of glory. Then it’s time to reevaluate some of your life decisions.
Even at 3.75″, this figure packs all of the late Bill Paxton’s crazy charm. He comes with the appropriate accessories: one pulse rifle and helmet. No more. No less.
This variant is only one of several hitting the series. There are several new xenomorphs, including repaints and brand new figures, that can be pre-ordered here. The new editions include a gold warrior alien, the Newborn, and the dog/ox alien from ‘ALIEN 3.’ They’re expected to ship in May.
Hudson had previously been released with an unemotional facial expression before. If you’re in any way a fan of this colonial marine, you’ll know that Hudson is at his best when being overcome with stress.
Hudson eventually redeemed himself during the big standoff in Hadley’s Hope. He took down several xenomorphs before eventually being dragged under the floor panels to an uncertain fate. If you played ‘ALIENS: Colonial Marines, ‘ maybe you caught the Hudson Easter egg that hints at his fate.
Did you find Hudson in the game? Which marine was your favorite? Let us know in the comments.
