Superman’s Epic Fight With Doomsday Is Now An Epic-Sized Statue

In the early 1990s, the comic book industry was in trouble. To save themselves from possible extinction, Marvel and DC started making major shakeups with their classic heroes. One such gamble was killing off the most iconic hero of the modern age: Superman. Now the Last Son of Krypton’s heroic sacrifice against the monstrous Doomsday is a statue of epic scale.
Sideshow‘s statue of the brawl that led to the ’90s iconic Death of Superman storyline measures 37″ tall by 42″ wide. Yes, this thing is massive. It also comes in two versions, both standard and deluxe. The deluxe statue comes with multiple heads for Superman and a chest symbol based on the classic Max Fleischer cartoons.

Coming in at over 3 feet tall, our Superman Vs. Doomsday statue has The Man of Steel locked in a terrifying battle with Doomsday, as the monster bursts out of the remains of The Daily Planet globe! Jason Fabok has envisioned their titanic fight exploding in and around Metropolis, the grim setting for 1992’s groundbreaking (and heartbreaking) Death of Superman story arc.
And more fittingly to the story, our Deluxe Version of this bombastic battle allows you to extend the storytelling once more. Choose between three (3) swappable heads for The Last Son of Krypton. Change his serious head to one of two heads where his eyes are glowing with the power of his Heat Vision, and Superman is shown with gritted teeth or full-on rage! Furthermore, enjoy swapping out his iconic Superman chest symbol between the classic Golden Age design or the one inspired by the original Max Fleischer cartoons of the 1940’s!

The statue is available for pre-order now but won’t ship until sometime between December 2022 and May 2023. This should give prospective buyers enough time to gather the capital needed to buy this massive work of art. How much capital? $2,205.
Sideshow does offer a flex pay program of $248.06 a month. That’s more than my car payment!
What do you think of this supersized statue? Worth every penny or too grand for its own good? Let us know in the comments.
