Super7’s NYCC Reveals Include Lots Of Retro Collectibles

Super7

Super7‘s NYCC 2022 merchandise is now available for pre-order. There’s just about something for everyone, from shoes to model kits to shirts, masks, and action figures. Let’s go over the stuff that really stood out.

First up is a throwback! Super7 is releasing a clear plastic version of the classic Creature from the Black Lagoon Aurora model kit. Atlantis, the company that’s currently reproducing many of these models, loaned out the molds to Super7. The translucent Creature how has monster guts just beneath his skin. It’s a cool twist on a solid model rather than throwing some glow-in-the-dark parts in. The price is also on par with other Atlantis products, going for $45.

Bruce Lee is coming to the ReAction Figure line! This $20 retro figure is more for displayin’ than playin’. The Dragon Flex Lee features the shirtless martial arts in his black pants and brandishing his nunchucks. He’ll be packaged in the signature pose, so you’ll never have to release him from his blister card tomb.

And here come the re-releases. Captain Picard from Star Trek: TNG will have a new spin on his recently released ReAction figure. The Transporter Effect 3.75″ figure will have most of his body cast in translucent blue with glitter suspended in the plastic. It may turn out to be a really cool-looking toy, but I’ll wait and see the final product before spending $20.

Another retread is the ReAction Godzilla ’54 figure. This time he comes in a window box with the Oxygen Destroyer. The figure is painted just as he appeared in the black-and-white film. He’s a pretty good display piece for only $25.

Muckman and Joe Eyeball return. These Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle Ultimates figures are being re-released, but now they glow in the dark! Unfortunately, they’re also more expensive now, too! The duo will run you $65.00. The figure includes all of the same accessories, but the packaging now, too, has glowing artwork.

The glow gimmick doesn’t end with Muckman. Rodan, Mothra, and Mutagen Ooze Raphael ReAction figures are all getting in on the re-release train. While the two from Godzilla’s universe are photoluminescent, Raph is a different story. He and his accessories are made from translucent green plastic, and the mockup image does look pretty cool. Will it retain that same effect when it’s on the market? We’ll see. Each figure is $20.
