SEGA’s ’91 Sonic Statue Is Full Of Nostalgia and LED Lights

Dark Horse Direct is now taking orders for another First4Figures statue. We’re going old school with classic Sonic in the Green Hill Zone this time! The 11″ tall PVC statue shows the speedy blue hedgehog as he passes a checkpoint on top of the familiar brown and orange checkerboard base. You can almost hear that GHZ music playing in your ears just by looking at it.

The Sonic The Hedgehog statue is priced at $119.99. As is to be expected with most collectibles these days, the static display piece does have a light-up feature. The checkpoint sphere and Star Circle are illuminated via LEDs. What is interesting to note is that this statue’s fine print says that the USB cable and lithium ion battery are not included. Hopefully, you can just plug the statue in with your own cable, and the battery is optional.

Expect this statue to start shipping during this quarter.

The highly detailed Sonic PVC statue is seen striking a dynamic pose, revving up to run faster than the speed of sound. The base design is inspired by the Green Hill Zone, and on it is also the Star Post checkpoint, which you can rotate up to 90 degrees, allowing for multiple viewing angles. If you have 50 rings when reaching a checkpoint, a Star Circle will appear, which grants you access to a special level. The Collector’s Edition of this statue comes with the Star Circle and bright LED functions for both the checkpoint bulb and the Star Circle.
