Prepare to Protect and Serve In RoboCop: Rogue City

A new RoboCop game? After all these years? A new RoboCop game from the developers behind the excellent Terminator: Resistance?! Yes, I’ll take two, please!
The last time we saw a RoboCop game based on the original franchise was back in 2003. It was a sad affair. Trust me. Don’t go buying a copy out of curiosity. That game was awful. It was no Dredd VS Death.
We spotted the title’s details over at Steam, and thanks to IGN for this shareable reveal trailer.

Teyon is the developer of RoboCop: Rogue City. This company managed to capture the essence of the first two Terminator films while also expanding on the future resistance movement. It may not have been a AAA release, but the game was an enjoyable ride. This may also give us some insight into what we can expect from RoboCop: Rogue City.
Resistance split the story up into medium-sized levels throughout war-torn LA. Rather than giving you the UbiSoft treatment, Teyon tailored each map for specific parts of the story they were telling. Sometimes you’d infiltrate. Sometimes you’d full-on assault Skynet. And sometimes, you’d run away from an infiltrator unit.
I can see these types of situations occurring with RoboCop, except for the fleeing part. You’ll probably get to explore portions of Detroit as you eliminate certain targets, bust up drug manufacturing plants, or deescalate hostage situations … by plowing through walls. Would you mind not quoting me on any of that? I’m just speculating.

Become the iconic part man, part machine, all cop hero as you attempt to bring justice to the dangerous, crime-ridden streets of Old Detroit. Armed with your trusty Auto-9, factory-built strength, years of experience on the force and a variety of tools at your disposal, you will fight forces seeking to destroy the city you call home in an all new first-person, explosive hunt for the truth.
You have the power to decide how to fulfil prime directives in your own way, but as the story unfolds proceed with caution because corruption and greed know no limits.
Prepare yourself to… PROTECT THE INNOCENT AND UPHOLD THE LAW.

Excited? Let us know what you’re expecting from this game? A flying section? Tricking ED-209 units into tumbling down flights of stairs? Shooting corporate businessmen? Put your thoughts in the comments, creep.
