Noah Centineo Leaves Sony’s ‘Masters of the Universe’ Film

It has been announced that Rom-com star Noah Centineo has pulled out of the Sony ‘Masters of the Universe’ film. Maybe it’s because he’s going to be in the DCEU as Atom Smasher, acting with Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson in ‘Black Adam,’ and simply doesn’t have time?

From the information about his exit we have learned that it’s probably for the best because they will likely ruin the MOTU franchise as they are “rebooting” the Master of the Universe….universe.

According to Collider, Centineo is not longer playing the character of He-Man, and his counterpart Prince Adam, in the upcoming film. Now writers/directors Aaron and Adam Nee will be forced to find someone else to play the character in their re-imagining of a brand with a fandom spanning over 35 years.

In a previous interview Centineo has said:

It’s a new universe and it’s a new studio and their take on a universe. The Nee brothers, Adam and Aaron Nee, they’re directing it, and they’re the filmmakers in charge of the story, and they are doing one hell of a job developing the world and all these things, so. I can’t tell you what tone they’re going for, but they’re genius, so.

Well maybe he lost faith in their “genius” or maybe he’s busy, or maybe this is just God telling them to stop “rebooting” everything and leave it alone.

The window for the Netflix release on this was late 2021 or early 2022. Now that will likely change if they move forward on it.

Who knows.

Super Accurate ‘The Goonies’ Prop Replica Coming Soon!

Hey you guys! Break out the rich stuff and get ready for adventure!
Copper Bones replicas have been available before over the years. I’ve owned a few myself, each being noticeably different from the other. When I heard through Figures.com that the item would hit the market again, I thought it would be another cheap cast-and-cash-in. Boy, was I wrong!

Factory Entertainment
What sets this one apart from the rest is just how accurate it is. How is it so screen-accurate? Factory Entertainment got their hands on the quite rare screen-used prop! Apparently, not many people have been allowed to see the original Copper Bones:

Working with the authorization of Warner Bros. and Amblin, Factory Entertainment was able to locate the actual screen used prop, which had been stored in the private collection of a prominent film maker.
The FE team was granted access to the piece and was able to capture all of the fine detail that had only been seen by the few people fortunate enough to handle the prop since the film wrapped over 35 years ago.
Using this newly available reference, our team got to work on replicating the prop by creating a digital sculpt, followed by a 3D printed prototype. The prototype was then used to create a casting master, ensuring that everything present on the original prop would remain intact on the replica.

The skull is way more sinister in this version. I really dig it!
The Copper Bones will be available in the autumn of this year. The replica is listed at $99.99, and the run will be limited. So, pre-order now.
What other props from ‘The Goonies’ would you like to see on the market? One-Eye Willy’s flag? Data’s slick shoes? A full-size, functional bone organ? Mama Fratelli’s hat? Let us know in the comments.

Five Nights At Freddy’s: Security Breach Release Date Pushed Back

0

So much for getting ‘Five Nights at Freddy’s: Security Breach’ sooner rather than later. Considering we’ve only seen trailers so far and no in-depth gameplay mechanics, it was a bit of a giveaway; a delay was coming.
Luckily it’s not a delay that shoves the game into the next year, but it’s a letdown nonetheless. EGM reported that the news of the pushed-back release date came down via Reddit. This isn’t some secondhand rumor. Nope. This all came from FNAF’s creator himself:

Security Breach Update from fivenightsatfreddys

Just in case the post gets pulled or doesn’t show up, we’re going to quote it below:

Hey everyone, so here is your big Security Breach news for the week.

As you all know, Security Breach was originally planned to come out at the end of 2020, but as we kept working on it and kept adding to it, it just kept getting bigger and bigger and needed more time to finish. And now, again, I’ve made the decision to put more time and money into it to make sure it’s finished properly, and that means a late 2021 release instead of an early 2021 release like I had originally wanted. It will be worth it!

I know it’s disappointing, but I didn’t want you all to walk away empty handed so I made something for the community:

https://gamejolt.com/games/furysrage/611180

However! Scott is offering a consultation. The link he left in the Reddit post takes us to a download page for an ‘FNAF’ beat-em-up game! ‘Security Breach: Fury’s Rage’ is free to play. It’s better than nothing for sure.
‘Security Breach’ looks like an exciting entry in the series regardless of the slipping release date. Unlike many other FNAF titles, this one goes for a full first-person exploration/survival experience.

Just having played the previous games isn’t enough to fully understand what’s going on. The insane number of plots and threads that could all connect to ‘Security Breach’ has been taking place in a series of books and the games. If you’re a little behind on the lore, I’d suggest checking out Game Theory’s video to catch up.

Are you eagerly awaiting ‘FNAF: Security Breach’? What are your theories about who Vanny is? Let us know in the comments.

Chad Michael Murray Cast As Serial Killer Ted Bundy In ‘American Boogeyman’

0

‘One Tree Hill’ and ‘Chosen’ actor Chad Michael Murray joined the cast of the upcoming biopic thriller ‘American Boogeyman’ as the serial killer Ted Bundy. The movie is directed by ‘The Murder of Nicole Brown Simpson’ director Daniel Farrands and produced by Dark Star Pictures.
The movie is described as being “based on the untold story of notorious serial killer Ted Bundy as he’s pursued by an intrepid detective and the rookie FBI profiler who coined the term ‘serial killer.'” It is “Set in a gritty and decadent 1970s America, American Boogeyman follows the elusive and charming killer and the ensuing manhunt that brought Ted Bundy, American’s most feared boogieman, to justice.”
Murray is joined by castmates Lin Shaye (‘Penny Dreadful: City of Angels’) and Holland Roden (‘Escape Room 2’). It will be produced by Lucas Jarach (The Haunting of Sharon Tate), Daniel Davila (Knife Fight), and Farrands (The Haunting In Connecticut).
Voltage Pictures announced that they have secured the rights to distribute the independent movie worldwide through a partnership with Fathom Events in a press release.
“Ted Bundy is such a fascinatedly divisive character and is the true personification of evil,” said Voltage Pictures exec Jonathan Deckter. “Murray is so talented and expertly captures Bundy’s charm and seductive nature, traits that the notorious killer exploited to win the trust of his victims as well as society. It’s fantastic to continue working with the very gifted Lucas and Dan on this feature and bring engaging narratives to the screen.”
“We are excited to be partnering with Voltage Pictures to bring their compelling stories to audiences across the country,” Fathom Events CEO Ray Nutt added. “True crime aficionados will want to see these films.”
The movie will be followed by the sequel ‘American Boogeywoman’ also directed by Farrands and starring Peyton List (‘Cobra Kai’) about female serial killer Aileen Wuornos.

Vincent Kartheiser Joins ‘Titans’ Season 3 Cast As Scarecrow

0

‘Titans’ season three is bringing another antagonist from Gotham City in the form of Professor Jonathan Crane, better known as Scarecrow. ‘Mad Men’ actor Vincent Kartheiser has been tapped to portray the character for the HBO Max show based on the DC Comics series, according to Deadline.
Kartheiser is perhaps best known for his role as Pete Campbell on the hit series ‘Mad Men.’ He has also been seen in such films as ‘The Most Hated Woman in America,’ ‘My Friend Dahmer,’ and as an AI in the critically-acclaimed documentary ‘The Social Dilemma.’

Scarecrow is one of the Dark Knight’s most frequent adversaries. He was first developed by Batman co-creators Bob Kane and Bill Finger with their collaborator Jerry Robinson. He made his comic book debut in ‘World’s Finest.’ His reach would extend beyond Gotham City as he would join the Legion of Doom, Secret Society of Super Villains, and even the Sinestro Corps.
The Arkham Inmate was famously portrayed by Cillian Murphy as the main antagonist in ‘Batman Begins’ and made cameo appearances in the subsequent sequels. Henry Polic II voiced him in ‘Batman: The Animated Series’ with Jeffrey Combs taking over in ‘The New Batman Adventures.’ He was played by Charlie Tahan and David W. Thompson in the FOX television series ‘Gotham.’
Brenton Thwaites, Anna Diop, Teagan Croft, Ryan Potter, Minka Kelly, and Alan Ritchson are returning in their respective roles as ‘Titan’ regulars Dick Grayson, Kory Anders, Rachel Roth, Gar Logan, Dawn Granger, and Hank Hall. Iain Glen will be reprising his role as Bruce Wayne with Curran Walters returning as Jason Todd, though now he will portray the Red Hood.
‘Titans’ is executive produced by Akiva Goldsman, Geoff Johns, Greg Berlanti, Sarah Schechter, and Greg Walker. It originally appeared on DC Universe before being moved to the HBO Max streaming service.

TMNT’S Ultimate APRIL O’NEIL Available for Pre-Order from NECA

0

The NECA line of ‘Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle’ figures has been supreme. Whether it was cartoon turtles, Jim Henson turtles, or video game turtles, all the toys looked amazing. Yet, after years of these figures being out, there was a noticeable exclusion. Where was the 1990’s April O’Neil?
Well, after a long wait, the Channel 5 news reporter will be hitting the market. There will be a standard version and a limited edition sporting a yellow raincoat and signed by her living counterpart, Judith Hoag.
NECAIt’s my opinion that Judith Hoag was the best April O’Neil out of all the incarnations of the Turtles franchise. She was strong-willed, smart, caring, and was willing to go toe-to-toe with the Foot when confronted early on in the movie.
That and she’s a natural redhead. So, yeah. That makes her an instant win.
Hoag recently took over NECA to talk about her action figure. Below is the fourth and final episode of her mini news segment.

From the 1990 Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie! After wading in a puddle of radioactive waste, four radical reptiles are transformed into New York City’s greatest crime-fighting quartet. Also keeping an eye on the city’s unprecedented crime wave is intrepid Channel 3 reporter April O’Neil, who eventually finds herself face-to-face with the Turtles when Raphael rescues her from Foot Clan ninjas. April is super articulated, highly detailed and accurate to the movie, featuring the authorized likeness of Judith Hoag. The 7″ figure comes with alternate head and hands, Channel 3 microphone, purse, pizza stack, and sai accessories.

It’s unfortunate that we only got this April once on screen. If we know anything about Hollywood, though, I will bet she would appear again in some sort of weird TMNT reboot.
Pre-orders are available now over at the NECA Store. April is limited to two per customer.
Who was your favorite April O’ Neil? Let us know in the comments.

‘The Idhun Chronicles’ Part 3 Will Not Stream On Netflix

0

The Spanish language ‘Memorias de Idhún,’ known in English as ‘The Idhun Chronicles’ ended its initial ten-episode run on the streaming service in a cliffhanger, as the protagonists prepare to face off against their mortal enemy.
Fans looking forward to seeing how part three will conclude the story arc will be disappointed as the series creator announced that the animated series, oftentimes billed as an anime, will not be returning to Netflix.
“No more seasons are planned,” book author Laura Gellego said according to What’s On Netflix. “The adaptation was only for the first book.” She added, “No agreement has been reached to adapt the following books, sorry.”
No further explanation has been given by Netflix or by the production company Zeppelin TV.
The only clue given was Gellego’s very public disappointment in the casting choices for the English broadcast.
“In autumn 2018, a casting was carried out between professional voice actors to interpret the characters of the anime series ‘Memories of Idhún,’ in its Spanish version,” she said. “I was allowed to participate in the final selection of this casting and we had already chosen the cast of voice actors who would voice the characters. Some time later, and unexpectedly, some of these actors were replaced by others with no experience in dubbing.
She continued, “I want to clarify that from the first moment my wish was that all the characters in the series were played by actors specialized in dubbing. Those responsible for the series had other preferences regarding dubbing in Spanish and it was their criteria that prevailed at the end. Therefore, I would like to point out that these specific voices are not the ones I had imagined for my characters.”
No comment has been made if the series will continue on another streaming service or if a reboot of ‘The Idhun Chronicles’ is in the works.

WWE Tag-Teams With Crunchyroll For A New Anime

World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) has not been shy about expanding its brand beyond the wrestling mat into the film, animation, and television beyond the sport.
With the rise in popularity of the Japanese-style anime, it seems as no surprise that WWE has announced that they are expanding into the medium with a ten-episode series partnership with Crunchyroll.
According to Sports Rush, WWE President and Chief Revenue Officer Nick Khan made the announcement during a webcast of the WWE’s first quarter 2021 results.
“As we continued to expand WWE’s brand beyond the ring, we remained focused on developing the slate of original programming from WWE Studios,” he said. “We sold a multi-episode anime series to Crunchyroll, which is now owned by Sony.”
There is nothing else known about the series or who will be featured in it, but no doubt the success of such anime features like ‘Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba the Movie: Mugen Train‘ made this deal more lucrative.
As SR notes, several of their wrestlers such as Sasha Banks, the New Day, Keith Lee, Ronda Rousey, Rhea Ripley, and others have worn anime-inspired costumes for various WrestleMania events.
This is not the first time the WWE has made a foray into animation. They have partnered with Warner Media for crossovers with several of their Hanna-Barbera Production characters including Scooby-Doo, The Flintstones, and The Jetsons.
John Cena, The Undertaker, Triple H, Paige, and Michael Cole starred in the Sony Pictures Animation feature ‘Surf’s Up 2: WaveMania.’ Roman Reigns is set to appear in the Paramount Animation feature ‘Rumble.’
Seth Green has also worked with WWE Studios to produce ‘Camp WWE’ an animated series that features several retired wrestlers as themselves including Ric Flair, Sgt. Slaughter, and Jake Roberts in a summer camp setting.
WWE Chairman and CEO Vince McMahon has made appearances in ‘Surf’s Up 2’ and ‘Camp WWE’ as himself.

Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon Eternal The Movie Coming to Netflix June 3

0

After a long and nerve-wracking wait, we finally have an official announcement for when Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon Eternal The Movie parts 1 and 2 is released outside of Japan. Surprisingly to most people, Netflix snatched up the streaming rights from Hulu, who have, up until this point, acquired streamings rights to all of the Sailor Moon series. It’s very likely Toei wanted to release the movies globally due to the pandemic that’s been happening worldwide, and Netflix has a greater reach than Hulu.

Japan was originally going to release the first movie on September 11, 2020, but changed the release dates to January 8th and February 11th, 2021. Sailor Moon Eternal was the 1st movie of the anime franchise to be in Japanese theaters after more than 20 years. Now the rest of the world learns that parts 1 and 2 are coming to Netflix worldwide on June 3rd, 2021, which happens to be the month of Usagi and Chibiusa’s birthday (they share a birthday on June 30th).

“Like so many others around the world, I trace my love for anime back to watching ‘Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon’ when I was a toddler – pictures of me in Usagi’s Bun Head have become a family treasure. It’s no surprise that these characters and tales about love and justice still touch the hearts of so many fans around the world,” said Ema Hirayama, Manager, Content Acquisition, Netflix. “It’s a dream come true for all of us at Netflix to have ‘Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon Eternal The Movie’ join our expansive anime slate and to share this incredible story with fans around the world.”

Fumio Osano, Editor-in-Chief, Comic IP Development Team (Kodansha) also has a message for everyone: “We have long been hoping to bring the ‘Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon Eternal The Movie’ to people around the world since the initial release in Japan in January and February, 2021. Today, we are excited to bring these movies to our fans through Netflix. Amidst these challenging times, it is our greatest pleasure for viewers to feel courage and hope by watching this story about love and justice.”
The trailer opens up with different audio translations of Sailor Moon saying “In the name of the moon…!”. Netflix also offers 17 different language closed captions to choose from. In the audio, you will hear the original Viz dub mixed in the intro. Several cast members who voiced in the Viz dub have confirmed via twitter that they are returning, including: Sailor Pluto, Sailor Neptune, Sailor Uranus, Sailor Venus, Sailor Jupiter, Sailor Mars, Sailor Chibi Moon, and Sailor Moon.

The theme of the upcoming movies is ‘Dreams’. Based on the ‘Dream Arc’ of the original hit manga series, the story is about the Sailor Guardians’ growth, both as teenage girls and as Sailor Guardians, as well as the faint first love of Chibi-Usa and Helios.

The movies takes place right after the third season of Sailor Moon Crystal. It sets in “April, when the cherry blossoms are in bloom and Tokyo is in a festive mood as it celebrates the largest Total Solar Eclipse of the century. As the new moon obscures the sun and gradually dims its light, Usagi and Chibi-Usa encounter Pegasus, who is in search of the chosen Maiden who can break the seal of the Golden Crystal. Meanwhile, a mysterious troupe called the Dead Moon Circus appears in town who’s nefarious plan is to scatter the nightmare incarnations known as Lemures, seize the ‘Legendary Silver Crystal,’ rule over the moon and the earth, and eventually dominate the entire universe…”

I’m so excited to see the continuation of the manga adaption! What about you?

Over the years, Netflix has been investing in anime content for their streaming platform. Some of the Netflix-exclusive animes are Seven Deadly Sins, Violet Evergarden, Agretsuko, Little Witch Academia, and Carole & Tuesday. Netflix aims to be a big player in the anime industry. And they now have taken another step forward to get into the Virtual YouTuber scene with an official “anime brand ambassador”.

Meet sheep-human lifeform N-Ko Mei Kurono. Her name, Mei, resembles the sounds a sheep makes. The character design of N-Ko pays homage to Netflix, even within her name. The ‘N’ signifies ‘Netflix’. The black Netflix ‘N’ hairpin with red stripes throughout her hair. Along with the red N’s running down her dress. The posters in her room being of shows the company streams like Beastars and Agretsuko. N-ko is 24 years old, with her birthday being August 29th. She is 162cm, which is about 5 ft 3 in. Her hometown is in Los Gatos, CA, which happens to be where the Netflix global headquarters is located.

N-ko’s “mother” is listed as 2D illustrator Fubuki, while her “father” is 3-D creator Tumidango

She says she will be talking about anime content that is on Netflix and recommending them. N-ko also plans to collaborate with other VTubers to sing songs and do video game commentaries.

First introduction of N-ko:

These videos have ten different subtitles, which are Brazilian Portuguese, traditional Chinese, English, German, French, Indonesian, Italian, Korean, Spanish, Thai, and Vietnamese. Episodes begins airing this Friday, April 30th, 10 am Japan time, 9 pm est (Japan is 13 hours ahead of est).
