Netflix’s One Piece Reveals Behind the Scenes Sneak Peek and 6 New Cast Members


Netflix Geeked Week 2022 began today at 12pm EST, highlighting shows and features coming out for the rest of the year. Today, they shared behind the scenes sneak peek at the art concepts and sets for the live action One Piece, including a few of the many of the pirate ships coming to life. As well as announcing 6 new cast members.

Filming began earlier this year with the director of the first two episodes announcing filming has been completed for the first two episodes on May 8th. Next step is to edit the cuts. Filming location is in Cape Town, Western Cape, South Africa.

Filming is expected to last for about 30 weeks for the entire first season series, which leads up to the end of August or beginning of September. As of today, it will be Week 19 of filming. McKinley, the actor playing Arlong, posted a photo of his Arlong chair on May 30th, indicating filming was about to begin for his part of the series.

Even though IMDB says it is premiering on June 22, 2022, there has been no confirmed premiere date, but it is not likely to premiere until near the end of the year, or beginning of next year.
