DC Comics’ Batman Writer QUITS TWITTER After Substack Comics Backlash!

DC Comics’ Batman writer James Tynion IV has taken a well-publicized Substack comics deal, and he must be getting (or anticipating) pushback from the Comics Twitter cancellation mob. The writer is seemingly quitting Twitter for good to focus more on actually making comics. Will other Substack comics creators be far behind, especially since some are already getting called out by Twitter?

Yo! What's on your mind?

  • I wish this exodus of creators from Marvel and DC to Substack well. However, I won’t be subscribing to or reviewing comics by pro comic creators using the Substack platform. Why? Because Substack is a model which I think is exploitative, it has funded blatantly offensive material in the past, and only caters for big established names. I fear up-and-coming indie comic creators will be muscled out. Also I don’t agree with a digital first strategy. I’ll stick to print comics from my local comic shop thanks.
