Damien Wayne As Robin Is Mezco’s Next One:12 Figure

If your ex came up to you and said she lied about having a miscarriage and then presented you with a trained killer as your son, what would you do? Of course, if you’re Batman, you just sort of roll with it, I guess. Thus why we’ve been dealing with Damian Wayne since 2006. Regardless of his popularity, the child of the Bat and Ra’s al Ghul’s daughter has earned his place amongst all those wearing Robin’s cowl.

After several Batman figures, we’re finally moving on to Damien in Mezco’s One:12 Collective series. While I may not be a fan of the character, I do like his Robin outfit. It looks less flamboyant than the Dick Grayson version and improves on some of the things we saw evolve over the years with Tim Drake’s costume. Damien is due out around next Summer.

Damien is priced in the typical range for One:12 figures, $95, but he is not all that impressive regarding the extras. Damien isn’t exactly accessory-heavy, but he comes with enough to give him some decent display options:

  • Three (3) head portraits
  • Eleven (11) interchangeable hands
    • One (1) pair of fists (L&R)
    • One (1) pair of bow holding hands (L&R)
    • One (1) pair of katana/bo staff holding hands (L&R)
    • One (1) pair of birdarang holding hands (L&R)
    • One (1) pair of posing hands (L&R)
    • One (1) relaxed hand (L)
  • Hooded, serrated cape with integrated posing wire
  • Face mask (removable)
  • Armored tunic with ‘R’ insignia
  • Fitted bodysuit
  • Wrist gauntlets
  • SAP gloves
  • Utility belt (removable)
  • Boots
  • One (1) bo staff
  • One (1) katana
  • One (1) bow
  • Three (3) arrows
  • Three (3) small birdarangs
  • Two (2) medium birdarangs
  • One (1) large birdarang
  • One (1) birdarang throwing FX
  • One (1) grapple gun wrist mount with open hook & integrated posing wire (attaches to wrist)
  • One (1) One:12 Collective display base with logo
  • One (1) One:12 Collective adjustable display post

I never really got into the whole Damien Wayne bit of Batman lore. At first, I thought it would be a short-lived fluke like so many other “kid” characters, but he has stuck around for years. Is he popular? What do you think of the young spawn of Bruce and Talia? Let us know in the comments section below.
