Crunchyroll Announces New Slate At Anime NYC 2022


The anime streaming service Crunchyroll is further expanding its inventory with more television shows and films. They made several key announcements at the Anime NYC 2022 convention that will include several anime features from various Japanese studios.

“Another Anime NYC is in the books, so it’s time to reflect at everything that went down over this past weekend. In addition to a bunch of announcements for shows that are on the way to Crunchyroll, pretty much everyone got in on the fun, from manga and light novel announcements to big screen surprises. Let’s take a look while we rest up from another busy event,” Crunchyroll said on their website.

The list of anime shows includes:

  • The Ancient Magus’ Bride season 2
  • Hell’s Paradise
  • Yuri is my Job!
  • The Ice Guy and his Cool Female Colleague
  • Dead Mount Death Play
  • Ayaka
  • Saving 80,000 Gold In Another World For My Retirement
  • A Place Further Than The Universe

The list of anime films includes

  • Sword Art Online the Movie -Progressive- Scherzo of the Deep Night
  • Shin Ultraman
  • Blue Thermal
  • Kaguya-sama: Love is War -The First Kiss That Never Ends

They also announced a new video game for the app.

“Finally, we would be remiss not to mention one of the most exciting (and unexpected) video game projects on the horizon: Hime’s Quest! Revealed just as Anime NYC was starting, the legit Game Boy Color game—a physical version of which is up for pre-order via the Crunchyroll Store and Limited Run Games—was playable at this weekend’s event. Crunchyroll and Funimation merged together at the beginning of 2022, bringing the library to the former.
