Bryan Fury Joins Tekken 8 in Gameplay Reveal Trailer

Bandai Namco continues to announce more characters joining the roster of Tekken 8. While the surprise reveal had leaked out a bit earlier than intended, the official unveiling of the next Tekken 8 character was shown during Combo Breaker 2023. While some hardcore Tekken fans already knew who was coming from the leak, others who weren’t seeing things online were surprised to see the reveal of Bryan Fury being added to Tekken 8. The wild card of destruction is bringing hard hits and powerful combos with him into the latest entry of the Tekken series.

The reveal trailer that was shown by Bandai Namco at Combo Breaker 2023 features Bryan Fury battling against the new Jack model for Tekken 8. Many of Bryan’s juggle combos are showcased in the brief trailer, all of which look and feel devastating. The trailer also shows a brief exchange between Bryan and fellow Tekken alumni Paul Phoenix, where the two of them clash punches before going at it. Of course, being a trailer focusing on Bryan Fury, he gets the upper hand on Paul.

The new Tekken 8 mechanics during combat are also shown with Bryan during his fights with Jack and Paul. The Heat system with its Engager tactics, Heat Burst, and Heat Dash will be a perfect fit for Bryan Fury players, who love aggressive tactics in matches. The former cop turned psycho cyborg also has a devastating Rage Art that players will love to see, with Bryan unleashing a flurry of punches before targeting an opponent for a massively powerful attack.

Bryan Fury joins the Tekken 8 roster shortly after the reveals of other classic Tekken fighters King and Hwoarang. Like those two characters, the first appearance of Bryan in the Tekken series was in Tekken 3 on the original PlayStation and arcades. Since his first appearance, Bryan Fury has been featured in every Tekken game that followed. Players who love to play with Bryan often cite the heavy emphasis on aggressive tactics and powerful attacks paired with great juggle combos. Other characters who were recently announced for Tekken 8 recently included Lili, another fan-favorite character from later Tekken games.

At the moment, there is no specific release date for Tekken 8. But the game is set to come out for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series consoles, and PC. Hopefully, in the coming months, we get to see more announcements of characters being added to the roster and a release date in 2023. Multiple fighting game franchises, including Street Fighter and Mortal Kombat, are set to have new games released in 2023. It wouldn’t be a bad idea for Tekken 8 to also come out around the same time, much to the delight of fighting game players around the world.
