You Can Customize This ‘Godzilla Tokyo SOS’ Statue

Mondo

It’s Godzilla VS Mothra’s larva twins in this large-scale Tokyo SOS statue from Mondo. The limited edition statue allows Godzilla fans to customize the scene to their liking, including multiple display options and interchangeable parts. Mondo even threw in a severed Mothra leg for Godzilla to chew on!

The Tokyo SOS statue is limited to only 600 pieces. It measures between 16″ to 20″ tall, depending on if a Mothra larva is attached to Godzilla’s tail. The base is 15″ in diameter, and the overall width, including the characters, is 17″. This high-end collectible is expected to ship next May.

Does this mean we’ll get a Kiryu (Mechagodzilla) statue to go along with this?

Based on the amazing Godzilla: Tokyo SOS. This statue captures the brutal battle between Godzilla, Mothra and Kiryu. Godzilla is fully realized with stunning attention to detail including an array of swappable accessories that recreate specific moments from the movie. This statue is the perfect companion piece to Mondo’s Mothra: Tokyo SOS statue released last year, creating an epic face off between the two iconic monsters!

The $585 collectible comes with the following:

  • Godzilla Statue
  • Two Mothra Larva
  • Base Diorama
  • Swappable Closed Lower Jaw
  • Swappable “Chomping on Mothra’s legs” lower Jaw
  • Swappable semi-transparent Heat Ray Attack with head
  • Swappable Tail tip (used to display with or without attached Mothra Larva)

Tokyo SOS’s Godzilla had my favorite King of the Monsters design. The movie itself, not so much. It was one of those Toho films that threw everything at the wall, like modern-day comic book movies. It’s full of classic Godzilla monsters and other characters. There was a bit of a budget issue, but the special effects crew pulled off some shots. Sadly, the film does reuse destruction footage from other movies.
