This ‘Power of the Primes’ Figure Includes Optimus and Orion Pax!

Another year, another batch of classic Optimus Prime action figures from Hasbro. The latest line is called the Power of the Primes, a welcome departure from some of the recent Cybertron-related toys.
This Prime is based on the G1 version of Optimus. While many of us Transformers fans usually have several Primes, this one should be a “must buy” because not only does he transform into a truck, but hidden in the design is Orion Pax!
Pax is the Autobot who would eventually become Optimus Prime. This figure pulls triple duty, which explains the $69.99 price tag at the Big Bad Toy Store. The Leader Class figure stands at 9″ tall and will be out this May. From the pictures, it looks like Orion Pax fits entirely into the chest area of the Optimus figure. We even get a Matrix of Leadership, too.

The Autobots and Decepticons use Prime Masters to wield the incredible powers of the most legendary bots in the universe: the Primes. Prime Masters carry the spark of a Prime, allowing them to share a Prime’s godlike ability with other bots. Anything is possible and everything is at stake when the Power of the Primes is unleashed!
With the Matrix of Leadership, Orion Pax becomes leader of the Autobots: Optimus Prime.

Orion Pax has shown up from time to time in toy form but rarely looks like his original G1 form. The Power of the Primes finally solves that issue by giving us a design of Pax that is pretty close to how he appears in the story War Dawn. Check out the entire episode below.
