Take On Gary Busey With This ‘Predator 2’ Cutting Disc Replica

Prop collectors rejoice! Another expertly crafted replica from the Predator franchise is going to hit the market, but it is limited to only 150 pieces! Hollywood Collectibles Group has just announced it is producing a replica of the Predator’s “Cutting Disc” seen during the second half of 1990’s Predator 2.
The Disc is based on the hero version of the prop. This replica comes with sequenced LED lights that activate when the Disc is opened, just like in the movie. There are no sounds, but it comes with a themed base that lets you easily display both sides of the detailed weapon.
The Cutting Disc is priced at $799.95 and is expected to ship during the third quarter of this year. When closed, the replica is 10″ in diameter. The stand measures 11.5″x11.5″x7.5″.

Hollywood Collectibles Group has accurately recreated the Hero Cutting Disc, or smart weapon as it is sometimes known, accurate to the smallest detail and complete with working electronics!  The cutting disc halves pull apart in the middle to “activate it” – just like in the movie. When in this open position the LED’s strobe to create the exact same lighting effect seen in the movie.

The disc is seen only briefly during the battle in the meat packing plant, but it has lived on as a staple weapon of the Yautjas since. It’s the perfect way to dispatch several enemies at once or a single Gary Busey.

Is $800 a fair price for a replica of this size? Since it’s made from resin, does that make it a little overpriced? Gonna pick one up or hope that NECA produces a more budget-friendly one? Let us know below.
