Amazon described the synopsis as follows,
“Spanning space and time, Night Sky follows Irene (Sissy Spacek) and Franklin York (J.K. Simmons), a couple who, years ago, discovered a chamber buried in their backyard which inexplicably leads to a strange, deserted planet. They’ve carefully guarded their secret ever since, but when an enigmatic young man enters their lives, the Yorks’ quiet existence is quickly upended…and the mystifying chamber they thought they knew so well turns out to be much more than they could ever have imagined.”
Amazon Studios is producing the show with Legendary Television. Daniel C. Connolly serves as showrunner and executive producer. Holden Miller, Jimmy Miller, Sam Hansen, and Philip Martin will serve as executive producers with Connolly. Miller will also work as a writer for the show.
Legendary describes the series previously, “Next up from Legendary Television is NIGHT SKY, a genre-bending drama starring (Sissy Spacek) and (J.K. Simmons) as the Yorks, a couple who have a mysterious chamber buried in their backyard that leads to a strange, deserted planet. Streaming on (Prime Video) May 20th.”
