Playmates, please! My wallet can only take so much! First, you bring back the original ’80s TMNT toys, now these cartoon-inspired two-packs! Have mercy, you fiends!
Big Bad Toy Store is currently taking pre-orders for what Playmates calls TMNT Classic two-packs. Each box will contain a Ninja Turtle and an enemy based on the design of the 1980s cartoon series. No shirtless Shredder in this set, sorry.
The four sets include Donatello Vs. Shredder, Leonardo Vs. Rocksteady, Michelangelo Vs. Bebop, and Raphael Vs. Triceraton. All the figures stand at 6″ tall and have several points of articulation. Due out in May of this year, each two-pack will be priced at $49.99.

Let the fight for New York City begin with the TMNT Classic Vs. 2-Packs from Playmates! These ultra articulated 6-inch figures include weapon accessories and bases, and come packaged together in a collector-friendly window box.
I like that a few parts from the classic weapons runner made their way into the box with Shredder. Yes, even the silly-looking kama is included. But, to be honest, I think the only thing we used that weapon for as kids was a way to have our Turtle figures glide along a zipline.
The Triceraton feels like the odd one out in this series. We go from three of the original villains to an extraterrestrial. A Foot Soldier would have been too much of a rehash from the previous two-packs. But why not one of the rock guys from Dimension X?
