Mezco’s New Godzilla Is Toho Accurate And Electronic!

A new Godzilla is on the way from Mezco. Called the Ultimate Godzilla, the nuclear-powered monster stands at 18″ tall with a total length from “teeth to tail” of 33″. His dorsal fins and mouth light up. His electronic features don’t end there. Godzilla also comes packed with movie-accurate sounds.
The King of the Monsters is also the King of Budget Busters. This Ultimate Godzilla figure is set to premiere at $450. He’ll be shipping between August and October 2022. Pre-orders are available right now at Mezco. A $45 non-refundable deposit is required.

Godzilla, King of the Monsters, is here to rule over your collection!
Immense in detail and size, Ultimate Godzilla measures a gargantuan 3 feet from teeth to tail! He features 10 points of articulation including a hinged jaw, and a tail with an internal skeleton armature that is durable yet highly posable.
This colossal kaiju features lights and sound, activated via buttons discreetly hidden on his back. Depress these buttons to activate Godzilla’s light-up function and/or to hear his monstrous roar!
The Ultimate Godzilla figure comes packaged in a collector-friendly box, fit for a King and perfect for display.

The great thing about a new Godzilla movie is that no matter how bad the movie is, it means we get truckloads of new merchandise. Sure, it may mostly focus on the new film, but the lines are usually rounded out with classic Toho characters.
I’m surprised there has been a book created yet chronicling the history of Godzilla toys. So many companies have handled the property over the decades and produced so many cool and weird things. History Vortex has some of that history down but no photos.
Would an encyclopedia of Godzilla merchandise be something you’d be interested in owning? Let us know your thoughts in the comments.
