Gkids Share Three Dubbed Clips Ahead of Belle’s Theatrical Release

Leading up to the nationwide theatrical release date, Gkids uploaded three clips from the movie Belle onto their social media. If you are looking for something to see in theaters and IMAX this weekend, Belle might be something worth checking out. It was released in theaters January 14th, and is available to watch in sub and dub format.

The summary of the movie: Suzu is a 17-year-old high school student living in a rural village with her father. For years, she has only been a shadow of herself. One day, she enters “U,” a virtual world of 5 billion members on the Internet. There, she is not Suzu anymore but Belle, a world-famous singer. She soon meets with a mysterious creature. Together, they embark on a journey of adventures, challenges and love, in their quest to become who they truly are.

As previously reported, this is Mamoru Hosoda’s ninth feature film. Hosoda worked with Disney character designer Jin Kim, whom he met through an in person meeting with Glen Keane. Glen Keane also came from Disney, working on classic Disney animated films such as The Little Mermaid and Beauty & the Beast. Hosoda also teamed up with directors Tomm Moore and Ross Stewart from Cartoon Saloon. To create the digital world of “U”, he commissioned Eric Wong, a London-based architect and designer.

In July 2021, Belle had a premiere event at the Cannes Film Festival. It was so loved, it received a 14-minutes straight of standing ovation.

As of this writing, Rotten Tomatoes has the ratings at 95% Critics versus 96% Audience Fresh ratings.

If you think you would enjoy seeing this on the big screen, or just want to support an anime movie or find something to do this weekend, look for showings for dub or sub near you.
