‘Genshin Impact’ Announces Animated Series

‘Genshin Impact’ is a fantasy online RPG mobile game that is also available for desktop and console play. Launched in 2020 by the Chinese video game developer miHoYo, it has become the highest first-year launch revenue of all time. Now the creators are collaborating with the Japanese animation studio ufotable to bring animated series based on the game with the release of a concept trailer.

Crunchyroll reports on their website, “Other than this being a ‘long-term project,’ there aren’t really any key details to go on yet. We’ll have to wait for more on what this crossover has in store, but for now you should absolutely check out the concept promo below.”

You can watch the concept trailer below:

‘Genshin Impact’ has won multiple awards including “iPhone Game of the Year” at the App Store Best of 2020, the 2021 Apple Design Awards for Visuals and Graphics, Google Play’s “Best Game of 2020,” and “Game of the Year” at the TapTap Game Awards 2020.

Ufotable is the studio behind popular anime such as ‘Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba,’ ‘Fate/Zero,’ ‘God Eater,’ and ‘The Garden of Sinners.’

The ‘Genshin Impact’ wiki describes the synopsis as follows,

“A pair of “star traveler” twins who visit different worlds arrive in the world of Teyvat and witness the destruction of the nation of Khaenri’ah. While attempting to flee the chaos, an unnamed god blocks their path and separates them: she captures one and seals away the power of the other. The sealed twin (known as the “Traveler”) awakens five hundred years later and meets Paimon, who becomes their companion. For months, they travel together and then make their way to Mondstadt. There, they begin the search for the Traveler’s missing sibling.”

The game developers also launched an online manga to further explore the world of Teyat that is available to download from their website.
