Is Doctor Who desperate enough to bring one of its most popular Doctors back to help resuscitate the series? The rumor is that Davis Tennant could return as the 14th Doctor under once and future showrunner Russel T Davies when he takes over for the 60th Anniversary.
There’s an established in-canon explanation as to how this could happen, thanks to Tom Baker’s role as The Curator. But will fans come back if RTD throws Tennant at them again?
Remember, Sony owns Davies’ production company now, and they DID give us fan pleasers Ghosterbusters: Afterlife, Cobra Kai and Spider-Man: No Way Home.
But the stench of the Chibnall era retcon would have to be undone, or just never mentioned again.
