Darkwolf From Ralph Bakshi’s ‘Fire and Ice’ Gets An Action Figure!

After several decades, a new action figure based on one of Ralph Bakshi’s animated movies is finally here! Darkwolf, the ultimate fantasy film badass from Fire and Ice, is slashing his way to the collectible toy market later this year!

The 6.9″ tall Darkwolf figure is expected to ship in November. Like most collectible toys these days, Darkwolf features several points of articulation and accessories. Hopefully, this will lead to even more characters from Bakshi’s 1983 film getting the plastic treatment.

The long-awaited Fire and Ice hero may be pre-ordered directly from Frazetta Girls or via the Big Bad Toy Store.

There’s an odd difference in price between the two sites. The official website lists Dark Wolf for $70, while the BBTS wants $94.99.

Step into a fantastical world, unlike anything witnessed before, where fierce warriors, strange monsters, and villainous rulers engage in a struggle for the fate of a civilization. In this adventurous collaboration between Ralph Bakshi and Frank Frazetta, it is a time of contrasting forces—good and evil, pleasure and pain—where Fire and Ice clash.

Dark Wolf comes with the following:

  • 1x Figure Body with 32 Points of articulation
  • 3x Facial Expressions
  • 3x Sets of Hands + (1x) Arrow Gripping Hand
  • 1x Battle Axe
  • 1x Bow with (3x) Arrows
  • Collector Friendly Box
  • Removable Gear (Boots, belt, cuffs and necklace)

In 1983, years after Bakshi had completed the first half of his unfinished Lord of the Rings adaptation, he created a fantasy epic inspired by the artwork of the great Frank Frazetta. Fire and Ice was mainly completed using Bakshi’s rotoscoping technique.

Darkwolf was portrayed physically and vocally by the late actor Steve Sandor. His other roles saw him appearing in TV series and movies such as Star Trek, Charlie’s Angels, Stryker, and Superman: The Animated Series (as Orion).
