Could the reason behind Disney betting everything on the sequel trilogy be all about excluding George Lucas from royalties on Original Trilogy characters? That’s a rumor making the rounds on the internet this week. Could that explain why Disney mostly excluded the Original Trilogy from Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, which may have partially caused it to become such a massive flop?
While there’s nothing to substantiate this rumor, Lucas is a shrewd business man and it wouldn’t surprise us if he found a way to monetize his creations from now until the end of time.
