PATREON Can No Longer Be TRUSTED.

Patreon can no longer be trusted, and in my opinion artists and content creators need to be actively searching for an alternative solution.

The crowdfunding site recently banned controversial YouTuber Sargon of Akkad with no warning, claiming he violated “community guidelines” not on Patreon itself, not even on his own YouTube channel… but in a YouTube video on a third party channel posted many months ago.

Then their spokesperson proceeded to double down with a lame excuse on Medium.

Clearly, the platform can no longer be trusted if they can ban anyone they like for any nebulous reason. And the thought that Patreon follows you around the internet to keep tabs on your behavior outside of their platform is… CREEPY.
