The merchandising machine has started now that the Resident Evil 4 remake’s release is closing in. Kotobukiya has announced two ARTFX statues based on two of the long-running survival horror game’s most iconic characters.
Schedule for release in August, Kotobukiya will re-release 1/6 scale versions of Leon S. Kennedy and Chris Redfield. These PVC collectibles are based on the characters’ appearances in Resident Evil: Vendetta, a CGI movie that was released in 2017.
“This statue sees Leon in the Center Axis Relock stance, a close combat shooting technique used by everyone from law enforcement agents to Hollywood and video game characters. Note the details of Leon’s signature Sentinel Nine, a custom handgun designed for anti-bioterrorism, with a dedicated flash suppressor and high-capacity magazine.”
“Chris is donning his classic, heavy-duty, anti-B.O.W. combat gear. The unit insignia of the “Silver Dagger,” a small, elite BSAA counterterrorism unit, is displayed on both arms.”
Yes, Resident Evil: Vendetta is better than the W.S. Anderson movies. It’s not perfect, but at least it’s in the same universe as the games and isn’t just a vehicle for the director’s wife.
Recently, Sony Pictures Entertainment announced a new movie for Capcom’s horror franchise. Resident Evil: Death Island is slated for release sometime over the Summer!
