Netflix is pushing anime here in the West, but in Japan? Netflix is striking out. This could be why Netflix seems to be going “global” with its production? In fact, some anime studios don’t like working with Netflix as they don’t pay during the production of the series, but would rather wait until the series is FINISHED to pay in full. Ouch! We also talk about how here in the West, anime keeps getting demonized by media outlets, so Netflix cracking the Japanese anime market seems to be especially necessary.
