Hasbro is celebrating retro 1980s My Little Pony with… a new YouTube series that MOCKS the original G1 cartoon show. My Little Pony: The Retro Show seems pretty mean spirited to us, as it prides itself on the “snarky commentary.” We’ve seen this before with She-Ra, Thundercats, etc. It’s almost like the IP owners want to both cash in on nostalgia and bash it at the same time.
