Dark Horse Comics is killing off its last physical stores — the Things From Another World chain that literally funded the whole publisher back in ’86 is getting the axe with the two Oregon spots in Milwaukie and Beaverton shutting June 30 and the flashy Universal CityWalk flagship following on September 30. Yeah after the e-comm site already went dark last year and founder Mike Richardson got booted as CEO they’re “modernizing” by torching the brick-and-mortar roots that built the empire — because nothing says “we love comics” like closing the actual shops while launching a games division and pretending this is progress.
