CAPCOM Could Be Going WOKE?!

Capcom might be going “woke” according to a new rumor. As part of Capcom’s massive ransomware data breach, it’s being reported that a presentation was found outlining what is and is not acceptable to Western audiences current year, and that Capcom should emulate Naughty Dog and The Last of Us Part II as an example of how to make “proper” games for a global audience.

Problematic female game characters include Princess Peach and Princess Zelda, who need males to rescue them. And, oh, scantily clad women in fighting games are a NO NO.

Hopefully this is just an elaborate troll or mistranslation, or a presentation by a Westerner that will lead to a dead end. But given how the West is trying to apply its 2020 sensibilities to Anime, it wouldn’t surprise me if it’s legit…
